We very much enjoyed our week here. What brings us back is that the hotel has a very central position, they’ve got the boot room and swimming pool in the basement and then you literally walk across the road to get to the gondola. "Good hotel, unusual food, best for families"

Rachel, Bristol
4/ out of 5
Really good. The hotel was really nice, clean and the staff were friendly. The barman kept us amused. The food was good… they seated us together with a single traveller that we didn’t know, I found that a bit odd but we got on well with her. The food was really unusual, we had kangroo and pancake strips in broth. The ski and boot hire shop below the hotel was very convenient and the staff were really helpful and patient. It’s more of a family orientated place because Neiderau is quite quiet, it made a change from the big, lively French resorts I normally go to, I think my skiing definitely improved because I wasn’t going out so much! The room was fine. It was overheated as they always seem to be in European ski resorts. It was a bit like going back in time, quite old fashioned. I had read some reviews before we left that there was noise from the church bells early in the morning, and I have to say they did wake us up at about 5 or 6 am. Because of this I wouldn’t return to this hotel.

"Bottom line: no real faults in it"

We’d been to Niederau before and it’s a really small place in itself, the hotel is situated quite centrally so you’re only a five minute walk from the supermarket. You just have to walk across the road to get to the slope! The hotel has its own ski hire which is very good and it’s cheaper to hire if you’re staying in the hotel. They also give you a reduced price for the ski lockers which is good. The hotel staff were absolutely wonderful when my partner was injured, they provided transport to get her to the doctor and were very good with sorting out the paperwork. They were very, very helpful providing ice if she needed it for the rest of our stay. It’s one of those things you don’t really know about until something like this happens, but we were very impressed with them. If you hadn’t been to Niederau before, they would tell you anything you wanted to know. Our room was clean and spacious enough. I wouldn’t rave about it but it was absolutely fine and I can’t say we had any problems with the noise. The hotel had a bar area and also an area just to the side of the bar where you could have a quieter drink if you wanted to. The food was a good standard, some people might complain of being bored as there’s not a lot of choice but it was varied enough for us (a set menu with choice of 3 meals). Breakfast was a decent buffet, it was a good standard and there was enough of it.

"3rd time staying here - brilliant hotel"

We very much enjoyed our week here. What brings us back is that the hotel has a very central position, they’ve got the boot room and swimming pool in the basement and then you literally walk across the road to get to the gondola. It’s quite a good quality hotel and the food they do is always nice. People staying there on a package have a proper sit down dinner in the restaurant that always starts with a buffet salad, followed by soup, a main and dessert. In the mornings, breakfast is a buffet where you just help yourself. The rooms we’ve stayed in have always been fine, they’ve extended some of the rooms so they’re larger than standard rooms and most have a balcony too.
