Overview: hotel description: Hotel Altitude, Arc 2000 description

The Hotel Altitude’s a quality pick in Arc 2000. You’re just a 6-minute walk from the closest lifts, and it’s 3 minutes to the resort centre, so everything you need is on hand. When you’re not out and about, step onto the south-facing sun terrace for a superb view of Mont Blanc, or get cosy beside the open fireplace in the lounge.

Exposed brick, wood panelling and warm colours give this hotel a real alpine feel, and there are modern furnishings throughout. Like the terrace, the restaurant faces Mont Blanc, so you can enjoy buffet breakfasts and dinners each day with a view of the slopes.

Adults can relax in the Ômea Spa and make the most of the indoor pool, hammam and two hot tubs. Or, book in for a Décleor treatment for something extra special. Families aren’t forgotten either, with a hotel-run kids club where kids aged 18 months to 17 years can get stuck into a ton of fun activities. And teens have access to the Squ@t during the French school holidays too – a social hub where they can hang out with friends.

Les Arcs came to be in 1968 after a group of ski instructors and architects dreamt up a resort with all the perks of a village but a mountainside location. It grew into one of the largest, most incredible ski areas in the Alps. The closest airport is Chambery with a transfer time of a couple of hours, plus transport links from Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble. Present-day Les Arcs consists of four main purpose built villages. The original resort, Arc 1600, was created for doorstep skiing and is linked by a funicular ...
As you'd expect from one of the biggest ski areas on the planet, there's everything from gorgeous tree-lined runs to wild, white-knuckle off-piste. For beginners, each of the 3 main Arcs has 'ski tranquille' zone, and the wide beginner runs leading to the resort have gentle gradients perfect for practising. Local instructors are on hand to show you the ropes, with ski schools based in each of the main villages (1800 has the most). There are magic carpet lifts at 1800 and 2000 - an easy way for newbies to get up ...
If you're looking for a party, Arc 1800 is the place to be. With heaps of watering holes like the Red Hot Saloon (or the 'Red Bar' to use local lingo), Benji's and La Folie Douce. If you're looking for more of a French-style après spot, Ambiente Cafe has a really cool atmosphere and lots of nice cocktails (happy hour usually starts at 4) while Le club 1950 your venue if you're looking to party into the wee hours. Arc 1600's a little quieter but for good music and a scenic terrace check out Les 2 Têtes. In te...

"Really Nice !"

Aileen
5/ out of 5
It’s a really nice hotel. The staff are all really helpful and the bar area is nice. It’s a great hotel for families as they put on entertainment for the kiddies as well. We would definitely stay there again. It has a pool as well, although we didn’t use it when we were there. The food was buffet style and really lovely. The hotel is located at the back of Arc 2000 so it’s a bit of a walk to the slopes or the nearest drag lift, which is the only disadvantage. Les Arcs is a fabulous ski resort. So beautiful and you’ll always get snow there. Of all the skiing we have done over the years, it’s our favourite. It’s great for families and beginners but there are lots of runs for experts too. There is tree skiing lower down in 1800 and 1600 and you can also ski across to La Plagne as well, which is a good day
