Overview: hotel description: Hotel Alpenrose description

Hotel Alpenrose hits all the right notes, starting with the location. You’re right on the Burz blue run, so you can step outside, click in and swoosh down to the lifts, then slide back to the hotel when you’re done.

The perks keep coming post-piste too. For some off-slope zen you’ve got the spa with its sauna, steam room and tempting massage menu. The hotel adds music to the mix twice a week hosting live bands. And it’s game on for little ones, with a kids’ club and games room where they can enjoy some après playtime.

The hotel itself is just how you’d picture an alpine stay, from the painted shutters to the carved wooden eaves. The pine-panelled bar and dining room keep the theme going inside, while upstairs, bedrooms with balconies mean you can start each day with a view of the snowy scenery.

As for meals, days begin buffet-style, so you can fill up on whatever you fancy from the hot and cold spread. Then later on, take a seat for 4-course dinners where you’ll be served a taste of local Ladin cooking – a mashup of Austrian and Italian dishes, it’s the perfect fuel for skiing.

Pretty mountain village High altitude skiing Jaw-dropping scenery

It’s no surprise that Arabba has such a loyal following of dedicated skiers and boarders. A charming little village high up in the heart of the Dolomites, it has fantastic ski links, the best snow around and an infectiously easy-going vibe. We love the traditional Ladin charm and character and as for the location, the scenery speaks for itself.

This idyllic destination is nestled in the heart of the Dolomites surrounded by the Livinallongo valley in Ladin-speaking Veneto. The Arabba-Marmolada area is surrounded by numerous mountain passes which means incredible links to the nearby resorts in the Sella Ronda and Val di Fassa. The Passo Pordoi at 2,239m links Arabba to Belvedere above Canzaei in the Val di Fassa, the Passo Campolongo connects it to Alta Badia and Corvara whilst the Passo Pordon links to the challenging slopes on the Marmolada peak. Within these, skiers will love the variety of high steep terrain, exciting powder bowls and gentle descents against a stunning backdrop...
There’s a laid back après scene with most evenings spent in easy-going bars, trying out the local cuisine and relaxing in the comfortable accommodation. Stop off on the slopes at Rifugio Fodom for a midday pick-me-up and enjoy spectacular views from the balcony. In true Italian style, take a time out with a coffee and a mouth-watering pastry at a traditional cafe- the cakes at Pasticceria Caffe Gelateri Genziana are not to be missed. There are a few local specialities which are definitely worth a try - Bomb...
