· 7 minutes’ walk to the resort centre · 7 minutes’ walk to the nearest lift · 7 minutes’ walk to the ski school meeting point and nursery slopes · 1 minute walk to the ski bus stop
Set in its own private gardens, the Alpenhof’s a good pick if you prefer more peaceful surroundings. And when you do fancy a bit more action, it’s just a short stroll to Seefeld’s car-free centre. As for heading up the mountain, there’s a ski bus stop metres from the hotel, so you won’t have to walk with your gear to the lifts each day.
Inside, it’s a case of modern meets traditional when it comes to the décor. Wingback chairs and Persian rugs dot the lounge and chandeliers hang in the dining room. But head upstairs and things feel more contemporary, with cream-coloured walls and laminate floors in lots of the bedrooms.
When it comes to the food, you can stick with bed & breakfast to start the day with a hearty buffet spread, then head out to explore the nearby restaurants in the evening. Or to keep things simple, upgrade to half board and enjoy 3-course dinners in the hotel. There’s a choice of dishes each day, with lots of regional specialities like dumpling soups and freshly baked strudels on the menu.
There’s also a bar where you can grab your favourite après tipple, before finding a cosy corner in the lounge to sit and chat about your day.
