· 20 minute's walk to the Slaatta drag lifts, ski school meeting point and nursey slopes · 5 minutes' walk to the ski bus stop · 5 minutes' walk to the centre of Geilo
The Highland Lodge meets every mark for a classic Norwegian hotel – modern style, fab food and an indulgent wellness area too. It’s just on the edge of the village so you can walk five minutes to the bus stop to catch a ride to the slopes.
Back at the hotel, the design puts a modern spin on cosy, with darker colours, low lighting and typically chic Scandi furniture. On the flip side, the white walls and light wood in the bedrooms give them a bright, fresh feel.
Food is the star of the show here. You’ll get breakfast included, so you can fill up on eggs and bacon, pancakes and fresh bread from the hotel’s own bakery – where you can also stop to buy sandwiches and sweet treats like croissants and cinnamon rolls. Then in the evening, don’t miss trying authentic pizza at the Highland Pizzeria à la carte restaurant.
On top of that, you can wander to the bar to curl up with a glass of wine, go for a dip in the indoor pool and hot tub, or watch the kids let loose in the soft play area and ball pit.
