Overview: hotel description: Higalik Hotel description

Modern décor meets traditional wood-and-stone architecture at the Higalik Hotel, so you get an authentic alpine feel with some contemporary twists. Snowy peaks wrap around on all sides giving some wow-worthy views and it's right at the foot of a blue run, so it's perfect for get-up-and-goers raring to hit the slopes. Plus you'll also be close to the centre of Les Menuires so you can easily check out the après scene.

Make the most of the hotel’s fab facilities and head for a post-ski swim in the heated indoor pool, or spend some time in Spa Sothys Higalik's steam room and sauna. If you’re feeling extra indulgent, you can book yourself in for a massage or check out the other treatments on offer.

Start your day with pastries or a fill-your-boots fry up at the breakfast buffet. And if you upgrade to half board, you can try local specialities like fondue and tartiflette in the evenings – or book a table at the à la carte Restaurant Le Télémark to tuck into French brasserie favourites.

Together with Saint Martin De Belleville and Val Thorens, Les Menuires (say it Lay-Men-Weer) is part of the Vallée des Belleville and is the cheapest base for skiing in the 3 Valleys. This purpose-built resort is more focussed on the practical than the aesthetic. Le Menuires is split into five villages - Preyerand, La Croisette, Les Fontanettes, Reberty and Les Bruyères, all linked by walking paths, ski runs, shuttle buses and lifts. Les Bruyères or Reberty have the sloping roofs and wood-cladding the Al...
The resort has aimed to provide a wide variety for all abilities – and the proof is in the pudding! The opportunities are outstanding for skiers and snowboarders, but you would expect no less considering it is a part of the world's largest ski area. Novices will find five free lifts either end of the resort for getting to grips on gentle little green runs and longer greens such as La Violette at the top of the gondola from La Croisette. With a healthy mix of reds and blue runs covering the vast majori...
End a day of skiing on the large sun terrace in L'Oisans and sit down in the sunshine with a jug of beer. Kick back with a cocktail or shoot some pool in the cosy Piano Bar Le Kube. Sports games can be watched on the TVs at Café Snack. If you ski over to Val Thorens be sure to go for some drinks at the famous Folie Douce. Those looking for some late-night action have 2 night clubs to choose between; Le New Pop in La Croisette or Le Liberty in Les Bruyères - an intimate underground bar with seats fashioned like...

"Lovely hotel, very modern. "

4.5/5 One of the nicest ski hotels I have ever stayed in. Spa was really nice but sadly didn’t have a hot tub, although didn’t use the spa much anyway! Our room was amazing. Would stay there again. Didn’t speak to the staff much but they seemed friendly and there were plenty of them. B&B basis. Breakfast was fresh and nice, but not a huge amount of choice. Breakfast didn’t match up to the standard of the hotel, but it was fine. For ski access, you can walk straight out on to the slopes and ski down, but you need to be a reasonable skier. Bus stops opposite, though, for beginners to get to ski school. Need to book a spot in the boot room as not enough space for every set of skis.
