The hotel was well run, it was family owned, and all the staff were very helpful. The rooms, food and facilities were pretty good, but they were going to be upgraded. The food was good and the staff were great. It was a bit of a hike to the slopes, so we hired another boot room by the gondola!! + more

Overview: hotel description: Hotel Sonnschein description

The Hotel Sonnschein relaxed vibe that’s just right for a laid-back ski trip to Niederau. You’re in a peaceful corner of the resort – plus, you’ve got some fab facilities, like the all-singing, all-dancing spa, to make your stay extra special.

The hotel itself has two wings branching off the main reception and dining areas. The original part of the hotel is classic alpine, while the newer wings have a more modern touch. Food-wise, you can sample Tyrolean favourites as well as international cuisine. And there’s always a veggie option too. Then after dinner, you can find a cosy spot near the fireplace in the lounge and swap slope stories over a tipple or two.

When it comes to post-piste pampering, you’re covered here. The hotel’s modern spa serves up two pools – a family-friendly one, plus another that’s just for adults, so everyone has somewhere to splash and soak after a day on the slopes. Extras like whirlpools and underwater massage jets add an extra dash of luxe. And if you fancy amping up the zen vibes, saunas, steam rooms and massages are on the cards too.

Please note: This hotel can't cater to vegan diets.

"Family and well run !"

John

The hotel was well run, it was family owned, and all the staff were very helpful. The rooms, food and facilities were pretty good, but they were going to be upgraded. The food was good and the staff were great. It was a bit of a hike to the slopes, so we hired another boot room by the gondola!!

"Welcoming, clean hotel"

The hotel was very welcoming and very clean. The food was good (we could have done with a bit more, but it wasn’t a big issue). Our room was good and we had plenty of hot water. The hotel has a nice boot room and also a swimming pool which my wife used as she didn’t ski – there was hardly anyone there in the day but my only criticism is that in the evenings it wasn’t supervised, so the kids came into the adult pool rather than staying in the kids pool. If was a five minute walk to the bus that took you to other resorts in the area, or if you wanted to ski locally it was also a five minute walk to the nursery slope.
