The Mélèzes puts you in a fab location right next to the piste, and the resort centre’s less than a minute’s walk away too. Step outside, click in and your ski day’s started – get in the groove on the gentle green runs or ski across to the Diablo chairlift to head to the heights. When you’re back, kick your boots up on the south-facing sun terrace and soak up those mountain views.

Inside the hotel, it’s all about that alpine look. You’ll spot wood-carved animals and a log-burning fireplace in the lounge, and the rooms have rustic touches too. They come in a range of styles, so you can keep things fuss-free or go for one decked out with fluffy throws and art. And if you’re after some après-ski me-time, you can unwind in the sauna and hot tub, and treat yourself to a massage for some extra pampering.

As you’ll be staying half board here, mealtimes are a breeze. Take your pick of pastries for breakfast, or load up a plate with bacon and eggs. In the evenings, you’ll get a 4-course set menu made with lots of local ingredients, and twice a week there’s a special dessert buffet that’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Once you’ve eaten your fill, you can wind things down in the hotel’s bar or stroll into town where you’ll find Les Deux Alpes’ nightlife scene in full swing.
