Grand Hotel Summary

The Grand’s lakeside location is something special. Set on a private peninsula, this hotel has panoramic views of the huge lake and surrounding snowy mountains. The facilities are first-rate too. Front and centre are the hotel’s two spa areas. With its saunas and steam baths, the Grandspa is your ticket to ultimate relaxation. The Classic Spa on the other hand keeps things family-friendly, adding a kids’ pool to the mix. There’s also a clothed sauna in this one – perfect if you prefer to keep your swimming costume on.

Dating back to the 19th century, the Grand has the looks to match its name. With patterned headboards and fancy tiled bathrooms, the rooms give traditional alpine style a luxurious twist. And you can’t forget the chandeliers, sweeping staircases and Roman columns in the rest of the hotel.

Hungry? You’re in for a treat when it comes to food. You can pick and mix to build your perfect plate at the buffet breakfasts. In the afternoons, you’ve got cakes and other treats to sort those post-piste hunger pangs. Then it’s on to the main event – the 4-course evening meals. Served in the elegant dining room, the menu’s packed with fine-dining faves, plus there are regular speciality dinners where you can tuck into all kinds of local dishes.

Besides panoramas and peaks, the ...

The Pinzgauer Hut is a hidden gem on the mountain, serving delicious local fare and offers a complimentary snowmobile service to return you to town. At the top of the Schmittenhohe, you can dance the afternoon away at the Schnaps-Hans bar, before making your way down to the town to carry on the party.
