Overview: hotel description: Grand Hotel, Chantemerle description

The Grand was one of the first hotel's to be built in Serre Chevalier, and arguably has the best location in the centre of Chantermerle village, right opposite the slopes and lifts.

It's modern and stylish throughout, but still has a traditional heart and cosy chalet-style atmosphere. The rooms are the epitome of mountain chic – a real haven to come back to after a busy day.

Breakfast is taken buffet-style in the café, while delicious evening meals made with local products are served in the restaurant. Catch up with family and friends over drinks in the bar, or out on the gorgeous sun terrace, with its fluffy rugs, fire pit and slope views.

Always popular with families, the Grand also has a playroom with loads of games, from table football to a pool table.

While you won’t find a main hub of restaurants, bars and accommodation, a stay in one of the villages gives you a more ski-focussed, budget friendly week on the mountains. Briancon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Monêtier are the four main bases, each with their own character, but all with terrific lift access to the mountain. Typical French Briancon sits at the fa...
