We have had a wonderful time in Val d'Isere. Yasmin (the nanny) was fantastic and allowed us to enjoy our time on the slopes, completely free of worry. Leo at Oxygene provided great lessons and our 4 year old can now bomb down the nursery slopes in a perfect snow plough. Gorgeous chalet in an ideal location. + more

Location: where is Grand Choucas

Secluded location off the high street in the very centre of resort and only a few minutes walk from the Solaise bubble and nursery slopes. You can pre-book ski hire with Killy Sport. Their shop is just a 5 minute walk from the chalet.

Overview: chalet description: Grand Choucas description

We've got a fantastic, contemporary chalet-apartment in the very centre of Val d'Isere. Set just back from the high street, this charismatic second floor home provides the killer combination of seclusion and convenience.

A Parisian surgeon of some repute has invested splendidly of both time and money to furnish this property with taste and elegance. Picture windows spill onto the balcony and the classic mountain summits fill the sky in every direction. Plenty of toys for those inclined including a cutting edge eco-friendly ethanol fireplace.

Grand Choucas is a precious commodity as it provides a lavish amount of space for groups as small as five, and plenty of room for a few more if you wish.

For slightly bigger groups or families seeking a modern chalet-apartment, Grand Choucas would be ideal. There are two Twins and a Double to choose from, as well as bunk beds charged at half the adult price.

This package holiday to Grand Choucas in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 1st December 2024, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

We had a great week in Grand Choucas. The apartment's location is perfect. Grand Choucas is perfectly sized for 6 adults and 2 children. The apartment is nicely decorated. Concerning (the chalet company’s) services: - Victoria is really a perfect host. She is nice, calm, discrete, incredibly talented; - the food's quality (nothing to have with Victoria who cooks perfectly) is quite low. Mostly low price food (poor cheese choice from the supermarket's cheaper cheeses, same for bacon, the smoked salmon, the butter...). - The wine is ok but could be better for same price bottles - the chalet manager's first night visit: as cold as the weather outside and as quick as a thunder. We did not see her the rest of the week except when we have complained about the concierge - the concierge : not able to manage a reservation of a restaurant for one night.

We had the most wonderful family skiing holiday, thank you so much. The apartment Grand Choucas was immaculate and accommodated both our family and parents perfectly. The location was ideal for getting to the slopes quickly and easily, as well as all the other amenities. We ate the most delicious food all week, thanks to Barry the chef - he even did pizza making and cooking with the children. Our children had a ball with their lovely nanny and they were so sad to leave at the end of their week, as were we!! We all agreed it was the best skiing holiday we had experienced and will definitely go back again!
