Overview: hotel description: Grand Arena Kempinski Hotel description

For the ultimate luxury accommodation in Bansko, look no further than the Grand Arena Kempinski Hotel. It was voted Bulgaria's Best Ski Hotel in 2013, 2014, 2015 and again in 2017 by the World Ski Awards, and also received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2016 for the fifth year in a row.

Bansko’s only ski-in, ski-out hotel enjoys the best location in resort - opposite the high speed cable car and a short walk from the centre.

This high-quality hotel has luxurious rooms that are impressively decorated in modern Alpine style, with wooden furniture and bright colours that create a comfortable and cheerful atmosphere.

The facilities at the hotel couldn’t be better too – including the state-of-the-art ski room, free kids’ club and shopping boutiques.

If you like to properly unwind after a day on the slopes, the Kempinski is the perfect choice – it has been named Bulgaria's Leading Spa Resort by the World Travel Awards three years running. The lavish wellness facilities include indoor and outdoor pools and Jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, a snow room and a state-of-the-art fitness centre. Plus, there’s a whole range of indulgent massages and treatments on offer, including the unique AlphaSphere – a boat-shaped chair said to bring ultimate relaxation.

The Kempinski also has one of the best reputations for food. Try the flagship Sushi Bar and Teppanyaki Grill for authentic Japanese cuisine; the Come Prima Mediterranean Restaurant for modern dining with Italian flair; or the Gallery Restaurant for breakfast and dinner buffets with themes ranging from traditional Bulgarian to American and Oriental.

Looking for a lighter meal or an evening drink? Take advantage of the stunning views from the La Veranda Bar and Lounge; have a game of billiards in the Bella Vista Bar; treat yourself to afternoon tea in the Lobby Bar; or enjoy a night of live music in the Piano Bar Sing Sing – the options are endless.

Sitting at the base of the mighty Todorka peak in the Pirin Mountains, lies Bansko, Bulgaria's newest resort which is quickly becoming one of the country's most popular ski destinations. Given the rustic mountain charm, fantastic skiing on offer and lively après ski, it comes as no surprise that the resort is continuing to draw in and churn out happy skiers. And in case this wasn't enough, you'll pay a fraction of the price of a similar holiday in France or Switzerland. Don’t let the resort’s popularity pu...
Bansko has in recent years been home to the FIS Alpine World Cup, which can go some way in demonstrating the quality of the snow and the condition in which they are maintained. If it's good enough for the pros, it's certainly good enough for us! Beginners are well looked after here, whether this is your first time skiing or you're a couple of ski sessions left from the reds. New skiers, especially the little ones, can make the most of the Pirin or Ulen ski schools, before venturing out onto the gentle blues, ...

If you want a taste of the Orient go to the Kempinski Hotel’s sushi bar and Teppanyaki grill; but for an authentic taste of traditional Bulgarian grub, head for one of the many ‘Mehanas’ in the village. A Mehana is a Balkan take on a ‘tavern’, easily spotted with their homely feel, lively violinists, and of course fantastic food, all 3 ...
