It’ll come as no surprise that there’s a bit of a focus on food and drink here. Even the breakfast buffets have been given the gourmet treatment – expect artisanal pastries, fresh mountain honey, fine coffees and only the best local produce. Now, mountain lunches in Austria are always a huge highlight of any trip, but be warned – you might want to leave some room. You’ll be glad you did when you’re tucking in to 5 courses of gastronomic wonders each night.
Don’t forget about the wine. Whether you’re a budding afficionado, a veteran of the vine or just appreciate some good plonk, you’re in very good hands. The wine list has over 650 entries and the hotel’s sommelier is always adding new and rare treasures. Even if you’re not visiting the wine cellar for a unique tasting experience, you can expect some excellent pairings at mealtimes – just when you thought the food couldn't get any better.
Location-wise, you’re in a good spot for exploring Obergurgl and making your way up the mountain. There’s a path down to the main street just outside, so reaching the local bars and cafes only takes a few minutes. Not only that, but from there you’ll find the Hohe Mut gondola’s just around the corner – so you don’t have to carry your skis far when it's time to head back. Once you've un-clicked for the day, make sure you stop by the spa. There are saunas galore, plus indoor and outdoor pools. Ideal for winding down and relaxing before a night of wining and dining.
All Summit stays are top-rated and have fab facilities and service, plus they’re in great locations too. Find out more about the Summit Collection.
