We had a lovely stay, thank you. Ellie was a great cook and very accommodating, especially for our baby daughter, making her favourite dinner without being prompted. The chalet is a perfect little piece of Quaint Zermatt. We loved it. If I could ask for one thing it would be a more cosy bed, maybe with a nice t... + more

A lovely week in a very cosy chalet with excellent location. Particularly impressed by chalet boy Will; I have been on 20+ chalet holidays and this was possibly the best in terms of food and service. Remarkable for a 21 yr old man! + more

The original house dates from 1753 and over the centuries the building has seen use as a cow barn, a hayloft and an artist’s studio. At the top of the house is a bright, modern living room with south-facing balcony and Matterhorn views. The decor combines original wood beams with contemporary furnishing and stylish modern colours, assuring Gmatchi of a bright future to match its illustrious past. A completely unique home

We update Gmatchi's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Zermatt belongs to Switzerland's Valais canton, which rubs shoulders with the Italian Alps. You'll find it surrounded by nearly a third of Europe's 4000m peaks and, most notably, right at the foot of the Matterhorn. Even if you haven't heard of this mountain, chances are you'd recognise it - national landmark of Switzerland, the inspiration for the Toblerone and a peak photographed more than any other. Besides the picturesque scenery, these mighty mountains come with a cool climate, ever-white glaciers and ...
There are 200km of runs in the local area alone and a massive 360km overall if you count the Matterhorn's Italian side. With Cervina, Zermatt forms the 'Matterhorn Ski Paradise' where SNO lovers of all abilities are blessed with high altitude terrain - and lots of it! Everyone's a winner in a ski area this big and brilliant. Still, if we had to pick where it shines, we'd say it's incredibly fantastic for intermediate and advanced level skiers and snowboarders. If you're a keen beginner, you'll love Zermatt,...
Zermatt has voted the world's best après ski resort by the World Snow Awards in the past, making it a wise choice if you want a whale of a time post-skiing. Sure – it doesn't come cheap, but you won't find better if you want quality. Across sixty bars and numerous nightclubs, you can relax, unwind and party through the night. Harry's Bar is the place to dance to cheesy pop and Papperla offers a pubby atmosphere, but you can't come to Zermatt without being tempted into the Hennu Stall (at the end of the Furi-Ze...

"Great food, excellent location, cute chalet"

We had a lovely stay, thank you. Ellie was a great cook and very accommodating, especially for our baby daughter, making her favourite dinner without being prompted. The chalet is a perfect little piece of Quaint Zermatt. We loved it. If I could ask for one thing it would be a more cosy bed, maybe with a nice topper to sink into, but that is just being picky. Oh and thanks to Will for some great guiding, lovely chap! And also to Kat for making sure we were ok!

Nice chalet, not very spacious, but with an excellent host - always very attentive, eager to fulfil all (reasonable) requests and at the same time never intrusive. A great culinary experience (thanks to the host) - especially dinners of very high quality, very diverse, delicious but at the same time suitable for different family members including children. It's a pity that the chalet has such serious security deficiencies as extraordinarily dangerous staircases and very low bars in the doorways (hitting these with your head permanently is not a very good part of our holiday experience).

"First ski experience"

This was our first experience (at 65+!) of ski holidays but we have long experience of 'luxury' travel, especially yacht charter. We can truthfully say that we have never experienced, even in the leading hotels of the world, the level of personal attention to our enjoyment which was provided by this chalet company and its staff. What started as a 'let's try it' experiment exceeded our highest expectations and gave us one of the best holidays of our lifetime. Congratulations!
