Whenever you’re looking at travelling, and whoever you’re bringing with you, we’re sure we can find you a great last minute holiday in the Europa Sport region. The great artificial snow coverage on the Schmitten and Maiskogel pretty much assure lower altitude skiing from the start of the season and with the Kitzsteinhorn glacier open for around 10 months a year you’re always going to have somewhere to ski. The regular free ski bus transports you between the mountains in a matter of minutes, so you can easily head to a different resort at lunchtime if the snow’s not up to scratch. There’s a great atmosphere year round too. Early season skiing coincides with the build up to Christmas, so both villages are hubs of activity, and the al fresco dining near the lake Zell is beautiful as it thaws out later on in the season.
The accommodation in the area also lends itself perfectly to last minute holidays. Couples, and sometime even families, are able to squeeze into catered chalets to bring them up to full occupancy, and the great range of hotels means that groups of all sizes are likely to be able to stay together.
With Salzburg airport only an hour and a half away, if you book a package that includes flights you’ll be on the slopes just as soon as you can pack. Pick a package that includes accommodation and channel crossings if you fancy a last minute road trip- the excitement will have plenty of time to build up as you travel across Europe.
