Esprit Ski
Esprit are true family ski holiday specialists with over three decades of experience providing child-friendly ski holidays with top-notch childcare.
Esprit Holidays
First things first - these holidays are designed for families so there needs to be at least one child in your group (drop us a line for the latest age restrictions and details).
Accommodation comes in the forms of chalets, chalet hotels, hotels and apartments with a bunch of different catering options. If you bag a catered package, a typical evening meal might include regional speciality dishes such as a tartiflette and tarte tatin. Usually, children have their own high tea before the grown-ups dine - unless you’ve exclusive use of a chalet, in which case you can choose whether to eat separately or together.
These holidays are usually 7 nights long and to a selection of resorts in France, Austria and Italy.
Flights from a range of UK airports are usually included in the package – and transfers to resort too - mainly with Saturday or Sunday as the travel day.
Quality childcare is top of the agenda for Esprit. Babies and toddlers are usually looked after by nannies in a nursery, and older kids tend to head to Esprit‘s partner ski-school for fun-packed ski lessons. Staff cover lunchtime and transporting the little ones back to your accommodation in time for high tea, giving you a chance to get a good day’s skiing. This operator runs baby and toddler weeks - or ‘BAT weeks’ - especially for families with under 4’s, which may include a few extra fun activities like snowman building and treasure hunts.
Everything on this page comes with ATOL protection, so you can be confident that your money stays safe.
Esprit Childcare
Esprit run a fabulous childcare program, including group ski lessons with English-speaking instructors. All staff are qualified to care for little ones and there are strict policies and guidelines in place such as nanny:child ratios to ensure sprogs stay in safe hands. An evening baby-listening and child patrol service is usually provided and sometimes guiding can be arranged for a family skiing session if everyone’s reached a basic level.
Esprit childcare options:
- Nursery for children under 40 months old.
- Snow Club running activities for 3-12 year olds.
- Spritelets for 3-4 year olds starting to get into the idea of skiing.
- Sprites for 5-14 year olds of varying skiing levels.
- Cocoa Club for 5-12 year olds running activities before bed and Cocoa Club plus for older children featuring evening activities like bowling or ice skating.
- Teen Tuition ski lessons are offered in select resorts for children aged 13+.
Ski Chalets with Esprit
You’ll find these chalets in convenient resort locations (such as near the lifts, ski school and beginner runs) and their home-away-from-home feel should help everyone get settled in no time. A fireplace is often the centrepiece of the living area, just the ticket for board games, storybooks and your evening vino when they’re sleeping sweetly... Chalet layouts are designed to be functional for families and well-equipped with those bits and bobs that children need, making your packing a tad easier. Lots have saunas for adults to enjoy some peace and quiet, and a selection have pools too for a family splash around.
On catered holidays, the daily meal routine prepared by your hosts would be something along the lines of breakfast, afternoon tea and a 3 course evening meal including wine and coffee. Usually under 11s are served a 2 course ‘high tea’, so that you can do bedtime then enjoy an adult dinner later on. Chalet staff tend to take one night of the holiday off, so you’ll be able to eat out somewhere in the resort, or maybe order in a takeaway.
Ski Hotels with Esprit
Esprit’s cherry picked the best family hotels in the Alps and brought their signature English-speaking childcare along for an all-round amazing trip. Their hotel range is the newest addition to their collection and we hope it’s here to stay.
Many of these hotels have been given a 4 or 5-star rating and spoil the whole clan with fun facilities like pools, sometimes with slides and paddling areas. Many properties have their own spa facilities too, putting post-ski pampering sessions on the cards. There are different catering levels available - some with full-board serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, some offering bed and breakfast, and others something between the two - take a look at the individual holiday pages for catering details.
Chalet Hotels with Esprit
As the name might hint, these tend to be small hotels with chalet services, usually accommodating somewhere between 30 and 70 guests. Picked with families in mind, lots of Esprit’s collection come with suite-style rooms featuring living space as well as bedrooms. A splendid selection of Esprit childcare should be available for children of various age groups.
Hosts are on hand to take care of your food and drink, which typically consists of breakfast, afternoon-tea, a 3-course dinner after an apéritif and canapés and complimentary wines and soft drinks throughout. Like with traditional chalets, hosts will have one day off during the week when you won’t be served dinner but instead have the chance to head out for a meal together.
Self-Catering Ski Apartments with Esprit
Esprit run a small collection of one, two and three bedroom self-catering apartments in some lovely resorts. As well as giving you your own space to relax in, these offer families a lot of flexibility when it comes to food and drink. There’s sometimes a breakfast service available if you’d rather not have to cook before heading out on the slopes. The best apartment buildings have indoor pools and spa facilities, and most units come with a TV and free WiFi, so entertainment is only ever a few button clicks away. Children should also have heaps of fun in the kids clubs and classes run by Esprit.
Esprit Ski Deals
Depending on the resort, you may find family saver deals on bits and bobs like ski rental and lift passes.
It’s often a case of the early bird catching the worm here, as this operator has been known to offer discounts for early bookings. Also, bear in mind that most families will be sticking to school holiday dates, so you may need to act fast to get the dates you want.
That’s not to say you won’t find a last-minute discount now and again when there are rooms left to fill – put your departure dates in our search to see what’s available.
We love how Esprit cater for single parents too, taking steps to make holidays more affordable like removing underoccupancy surcharges.
