If relaxation is your post-piste priority then add the Gartenhotel to your shortlist. This facility-filled stay levels up après zen with a duo of spas, including a rooftop one where you can sauna with a view of snowy peaks. On the family-front, there’s a separate kids’ pool, as well as a play area. And later on, you’ve got the hotel bar for those pre-dinner tipples and laid-back nightcaps.
The building itself is slopeside on the nursery run – perfect if it’s your first trip. Or if you’re eager to explore, it’s a short walk to the Spieljoch gondola, and there’s even a hotel shuttle that’ll zip you to other ski lifts in the area.
Food here is another highlight. Get set for big buffet breakfasts and 5-course evening meals, with freshly baked cakes and savoury snacks in between in case you need a pick-me-up after a session on the slopes. Local ingredients are the stars of each plateful, and lots of the jams and chutneys are made with fruit and veg from the hotel’s own garden.
