Glide through a giant tunnel and release a colourful jump. Slalom around a series of moguls and tight turns. Slide across a gangway and give a high five to the giant hand at the bottom of the run. Once you reach the end, there’s only one thing you have in mind – start over!

The Inversens tunnel
Visit the very heart of the mountain by taking this unique underpass: the Inversens tunnel. 136 metres long, this underground blue slope offers new sensations at every ski pole push. Travel from one side to the other in an unexpected ambiance of music and light displays.

A terrace by the ski slopes
Just by a red slope, a deckchair is waiting for you - the perfect opportunity to take a break with the family. As you sunbathe, enjoy people-watching and the soft crunch of the snow as they ski past. Slip off your boots and savour a glass of steaming mulled wine(1).(1) Excessive drinking is dangerous for the health.

Bobsleigh thrills
Visible from the Resort, the Plagne bobsleigh track was built in 1992 for the Winter Olympic Games in Albertville. Whether with family or friends, get your team together and take your positions aboard the aerodynamic bobsled. This all inclusive holiday to Club Med La Plagne 2100 in La Plagne, France departs Thursday 17th April 2025, for a 3 night stay on a "all inclusive" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

In the French Alps' Savoie region, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built villages and 4 traditional villages. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a l...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts and a wide choice of different ski schools for those new to skiing. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners. The blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin provides a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate skiers, La Plagne is paradise. 77% of the runs are graded either blue or red. Particular favourites are the run from La Grand Roch...
It might not rival Val d'sere or Verbier for their wild party scenes, but this is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Try snowmobiling at night, ice climbing in Champagny, husky sledding, paragliding, extreme tobogganing and more! One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are various ways you can choose to go down it, but they are all guaranteed to give you a thrill as you will hurtle down at speeds ranging from 80 km/hr up to a lightening 120...

"Location was great, ski -in ski out. "

It wasn’t quite what I expected from Club Med, it was cheaper than another Club Med – price reflects what you get. Service in restaurant, was strange, when you get up to get food from the buffet, they were always taking things away. So they kept clearing the table. Can eat and drink as much as you wanted. We did things out of the ‘usual time’ but there weren’t tables available for us. We would head to dinner around 8pm and they had already packed most tables away for the night. Location was great, ski -in ski out. Ski hire was very efficient. Good transfers. Wouldn’t go back to that specific Club Med. Would go to another one with less kids, different time. Not during half term. Staff seemed stressed over half term.

We had a good time, enjoyed the ski in ski out. The food was good but not as good as the other Club Med’s holidays we’ve done. One of the waiters were particularly good. The resort was busy at times, rooms were fairly compact, clean and well presented. My son had an amazing time with the instructor and the expert skiers. Access to the skiing is via a narrow path which wouldn’t be appropriate for beginners. The resort was busy as it was Easter holidays, but overall, we had a good time.

"Hotel and Club Med staff were great."

It was a return visit for us to the Club Med La Plagne and it was great, could do with more bar staff but otherwise great. The food was great but the only issue we had was with the food for the kids (under 8yrs). Some days the adults do a long ski day with the ski school/group and come back late for lunch, but I had to come back early on one occasion because my kids weren’t eating. They gave them only one food option, like a set menu and they don’t give them other options. If we’re around for lunches then it’s fine and we can take them to lunch, otherwise they are in the kids club and given one choice of food. Once they turn 8yrs then they can roam around and go to the restaurant by themselves to get their own food, but not for the younger kids. Fantastic location, really good! You can get the little gondola across, which was fun for the kids, or you can snowboard down (or ski down) to the town in 2 minutes. Or you can just get the gondola up and down if you want to do some shopping etc. It would have been a 5/5 trip but for the food issue for the kids.

"We're totally converted"

We've always been fairly independent travellers but I'm glad we took advice from SNO customers about our first Family ski holiday with the boys. "Ski-Inclusive" and also "Food/Drink-Inclusive" makes it a genuine holiday for parents (i.e. not just the kids). You have all the faff of kids skiing sorted out by experts (all the gear on and off every time they need the loo, beginner ski school, endless snacks and water, patient coaching), and all the expense of feeding and watering a family in a ski resort is already covered. Basically, I think we'll ski this way until they're teenagers. The interconnecting rooms were great for giving the boys (and us) their own space but still feeling like we're in the same hotel room. That said, I don't think interconnecting is essential, if you can get rooms next to each other (maybe dig out your old baby monitor, so you can hear what they're up to!). The inclusive board-basis that you get in Club Med hotels is incredibly varied, so fussy eaters will always find things they like (they had great chefs making interesting things every day, but also staples like pizza and burgers etc.). The ESF sometimes have an unfriendly reputation but I think Club Med is a big client so they get to pick the best - all the instructors in the private Club Med nursery slope were female (no coincidence?) and my adult coach was a fantastically French old boy in his late 60's with character and attitude to spare, who was entertaining to ski with and improved my technique enormously (my last lesson was 30 years ago). It's great to dip in and out of ski school whenever you like (because its all included) so you can ski with the kids once they've got out of the nursery area (just a day for Jimmy 7, and two days for Charles 5). They said their aim is for the kids to be able to ski out of the nursery area by the end of the week, and I think everyone did (of course the very youngest or less sporty take a bit longer, but they love the nursery area where its safe and just as much fun). If you know that you will all buy lift pass and lessons, Club Med ski holidays are cheaper or about the same as any other, but of course you get the inclusive food and drink all day (I do love a free bar). Finally it's worth mentioning the consistency that everyone talks about - some operators can vary quite a lot from one chalet or hotel to another, but CM is a well oiled machine, so you never really get a duff one... and they hire nice people. When all the stats are counted, its usually the people who make or break a great holiday. Like the rest of the SNO community, I'm a convert. Recommended.

We really enjoyed our holiday at the Club Med in La Plagne 2100, it was really nice not it have to worry about anything. They looked after our children very well, which was crucial as it was their first skiing experience. The location was brilliant, nice and high and right next to the slopes. Nice food and a good variety for adults and children alike.
