Location: where is Chalet Telemark

Chalet Telemark can be found in a superb location in the heart of the Vielle Alpe quartier of Alpe d'Huez, the original village of Alpe d'Huez. Sat at 1200 Route d'Huez, the chalet is situated close to the ski lifts, with the bucket lift only 50 metres away, which gives access straight to the ski school meeting point, main lift departure point and tourist office. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within easy reach, with the main High Street of Alpe d'Huez just a 10 minute walk away. Alpe d'Huez is a fabulous ski area that is great for everyone from beginners right up to the most advanced skiers. It's home to a superb beginners bowl just above the village, as well as the infamous Sarenne black run, which claims to be the longest black in Europe.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Telemark description

Chalet Telemark is a lovely cosy chalet in a super location in the fabulous resort of Alpe d'Huez. The chalet consists of 8 bedrooms, sleeping up to 15 guests, plus added luxuries of an indoor hot tub and sauna. The chalet is attractively furnished in a typically Alpine style, with classic wood panelling and exposed beams throughout.

On the lower ground floor you'll find a ski room with heated boot rack, perfect for keeping those feet nice and warm each morning. This is also where you'll find the lovely indoor hot tub and sauna, providing the perfect way to relax and ease those aching muscles after a tiring day charging the pistes.

There are eight bedrooms, all of which continue the attractive wood-panelled décor that runs through the rest of the chalet. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and perfect for a great night's sleep. Of the eight bedrooms, the first is on the lower ground floor and comes with twin beds (90 x 200cm) and en-suite bathroom and WC. There are two more bedrooms on the ground floor, both of which have twin beds (90 x 200cm) with en-suite bathrooms and WC. On the first floor there are five bedrooms, four of which have twin beds (90 x 190cm) and the fifth with a single bed (90 x 190cm). All five bedrooms on the first floor have en-suite bathrooms, which are clean and modern.

On the first floor you'll find an open plan living and dining space. The living room is a good size, with plenty of seating for all guests, making it a great social space to enjoy each evening. The room is open plan, with a dining table at one end and doors which open out onto the space balcony, which enjoys stunning views of the surrounding area. The kitchen sits close to the dining room, and comes fully equipped with an oven, four-ring hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine and coffee percolator, so you'll have everything required to rustle up a stunning meal for your friends and family.

If you're planning to drive, then there are two parking spaces located in front of the chalet. There is free WIFI throughout, so whether you want to spend a relaxing evening streaming your favourite series, or you need to do some work whilst you're away, you'll be well covered in this lovely chalet.

Classic Contactless Catering Service

Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.

Our contactless catering service comes with the choice of two pricing options, a fixed menu with food and drink included in the price, and our à la carte option which allows you greater flexibility to eat and drink whatever you desire and the cost of the food is on supplement, at cost price, and depending on what produce you choose to order.

For those looking for a simple packaged chalet price, we are offering an all-inclusive price, which includes rental of the chalet and your food and drink for the week. Included will be breakfast, afternoon tea, a three course dinner on 6 out of 7 nights, plus unlimited wine and some beers. We have prepared a delicious menu for the week, with a mix of ready prepared meals from a local delicatessen and easy to cook dishes or sides. All that will be required from you is to pop a few things in the oven and throw together a few ingredients to make a simple salad, or steam a few vegetables as sides to your main meal.

Perhaps you want the freedom to choose your own menus, or perhaps you'd prefer to eat out more than one evening during the week, or you just love to cook yourself and enjoy the holidays where you have time to do this in a relaxed way. That's where our à la carte contactless catering service comes in. As an alternative to the service detailed above, we will also offer a lower rate, which does not include the food and drink for the week and we will give you the opportunity to order the food and drink of your choice, at the local hypermarket rates, and bill you for this afterwards. Four days before arrival, you will receive a comprehensive provisions list with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. That might be oven-ready meals, or the ingredients you'll need for Bolognaise, Soufflés or Cheese Fondues. Dry goods, dairy, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat or fish, beers, wines, champagne, whatever, all bought for you and stocked in advance.

Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able to provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.

*Please note that for the à la carte option, all food, drink, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and are not included in the chalet price. Provisions will be billed at cost price and can be ordered from the list that will be sent out to you, and ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates. For our fixed menu option, the price does not include ski hire and lift passes, but it does include breakfast and afternoon tea for 7 days, plus a 3-course dinner with beer and wine for 6 days.

We update Chalet Telemark's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

With a transfer time of around 2 hours, Alpe d'Huez is very accessible from Grenoble or Chambery airport. Established in 1936, it was the first resort in France to be installed with a fully operational ski lift. The resort lies in the Grandes Rousses Massif domain. It is partnered by the smaller mountain villages of Auris-en-Oisans, Villard Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and La Garde, all of which are connected by a free transport system. The slopes are mainly south facing and as a result the area, known as "...
Alpe d’Huez has had sun and snow galore since 1936, and with the culmination of around 20 Million Euros of improvements due to come to fruition for 2021, there is a huge ski area to be explored. With a whopping 52km of greens, this is an excellent place for beginners. The easiest skiing is above the village and Les Bergers. There are plenty of wide-open runs underneath the DMC gondola, many being ‘beginners only’ so you can learn without too much traffic. If you’re feeling confident, try some of the bl...
If you like live music, try the Underground in Vieil Alpe. It combines a pleasant atmosphere with bands playing most nights. Smithy’s has drinks promotions and healthy portions of Tex-Mex food to match. If you can’t bear to miss an important game whilst in France, O’Sharkey’s is the best spot to watch live sports. L’igloo is the place to go if you want to party late into the night. Alpe d’Huez has all of the usual culinary delights you’d expect in the mountains. To sample some traditional French food, ...
