Chalet Schneider, St Anton, Austria

Location Location Location! Groups of friends or families literally need look no further as The Schneider offers superb affordable accommodation right in the heart of this wonderful resort. Being situated on the pedestrianised zone, the many shops, bars and restaurants are literally on your doorstep with the Galzig and Rendl lifts being just a short walkaway. Providing relatively simple yet comfortable accommodation, it really does provide a great base from which to experience this superb resort and the wonderful life it has become famous for, especially the unrivalled piste-side apres-ski bars of Taps, The Krazy Kangaruh or Moosewirt.

Made up of two apartments combined to make one large chalet accommodation, there is lots of space with six good sized bedrooms, two of which can be used at triples for whole larger groups looking for great value. It has the benefit of separate living and dining rooms and a number of bedrooms have balconies overlooking the main high street and also towards the rear (slightly more peaceful!) side of the building. The main ski lifts are a matter of a few minutes walk making The Schneider a fantastic prospect for those looking for comfortable and affordable accommodation in an absolutely superb central location and it is run by two of specially selected chalet hosts (most likely a couple) who live out.

Did You Know: The Schneider is named after Hannes Schneider, the pioneer of "The Arlberg Technique" style of teaching, progressing development through snow-plough, christie and ultimately parallel turns. He's also the grandfather of one of our friendly St Anton chalet owners!

We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.

Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.

If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.

Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.
