Chalet Sandy is absolutely lovely and is fast becoming a much-loved and popular part of our Meribel portfolio, providing great-value accommodation in an excellent location.
Positioned just opposite Chalet Eleanor and next to our Chalet Noemie, it has a wonderful open plan living-dining room which, being decorated in traditional Savoyard style, provides really comfortable surroundings in which to enjoy a relaxed evening after a hard day on the slopes. It is freestanding, something often hard to find in the main village of Meribel, with four bedrooms all ensuite, each providing plenty of space, with the upper ones being slightly under the eaves.
Access to the Doron piste via the main village square is about a 4 minute walk away, as are the many bars, restaurants and shops this wonderful Alpine resort has to offer. Alternatively the bus stops directly outside the chalet for those looking to access the higher parts of the village or Chaudanne lift station accessing all Three Valleys of this incredible ski circuit. Chalet Sandy is a superb choice for those looking to stay in this world-class resort at a very reasonable price and is run by one of our chalet hosts who lives out.
Did You Know... Sandy is the first name of the leading character in the much-loved 1978 American musical rom-com movie Grease. The closing scene sees Sandy sewn into a pair of leather black trousers dancing at a local funfair... a scene perhaps reminiscent of some of those you will find at the world famous Folie Douce situated on the main Saulire run. Will you remember your black leather trousers this year..?!
We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.
Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.
If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.
Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.
•3 Valleys ski area •Excellent ski schools •Lively après ski
Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.
