Overview: apartment description: Chalet Picchio description

From the outside, Chalet Picchio looks like a quaint, typical Italian mountain home. Inside, purple is the word. From the walls to the sofa, to the headboards, there’s a pretty distinct colour theme at work. That’s not to say that you won’t find some authentic alpine details – some antique wooden furniture and patterned curtains make for some nice, traditional touches.

When it comes to food, you’ve got a nice little set up in the apartment for making meals when you’re back each evening. With a hob and a microwave, you can absolutely put together some good grub. With a supermarket less than 5 minutes away, nipping out for supplies is a doddle too.

Of course, if you’d prefer to hang up your spatula while you’re away, you can always let someone else do the cooking. Within ten minutes’ strolling distance you’ll find a selection of bars and restaurants – ideal for stopping in on your way back from the slopes.

Livigno’s fast climbing the ladder of Europe’s favourite resorts... and rightly so. We love the snow sure skiing, world class terrain parks and tax-free pricetag of après and shopping, not to mention the mountain charm you’d expect from a resort rubbing shoulders with St Moritz and the delectable food you’d expect anywhere in Italy.

Previously voted 'Best European Resort' at the World Snow Awards, Livigno is a snow-sure mountain town, much loved by skiers from Europe and beyond. Stretching 10km along the Spöl valley with mountains on either side and bordering Switzerland's famous ski classic St Moritz, this is a place you'll find authentic alpine charm in every nook and cranny with a friendly, cosmopolitan atmosphere. It's not just the high slopes, and attractive village that makes Livigno so hugely popular – its tax-free status is a m...
Various schools like Centrale offer various lessons - from playtime tuition for tots to freestyle sessions if you want to crank things up a bit. Kids will love the Yepi trail, which is dedicated to little legs with obstacles and toys. Gentle blues can be accessed from resort height, so beginners won’t be heading up any mountains without getting a feel for the snow first. Short blue runs served by draglifts from the resort fringes are great for practising before you tackle the longer blues from Vletta Blessac...
With low and cheerful prices when it comes to drinks thanks to Livigno’s duty-free prices, you’ll find some pretty amazing après ski. There’s always a party going down at the ever-popular Daphne’s Pub – a favourite with Brits for its authentic Baita interior, Irish-influenced après, super cocktail menu and legendary Bombardino beverage (you can’t say you’ve experienced Italian après without trying one of these). For a more sophisticated evening, pop into one of the hotels like la Casetta and soak up th...
