In the peaceful, private "Fermes de Val" area, Mathilda is a 10 minute walk from the center of Val d'Isère and a 8-10 minute walk to the Bellevarde Express lift. Geneva 170km, Chambery 135km, Lyon 234km.

When chalet Mathilda was completed in 2005, a new standard of luxury ski vacations was set. Service akin to that of a five star hotel and wellness facilities including an indoor swimming pool and steam room were combined in a brand new, spacious and chic private chalet.

Mathilda commands a place among the very best chalets in Val d'Isère and the Alps by virtue of size, facilities, quality of finish and the style that stands the test of time, combining traditional Alpine style with the clean and crisp influences of today. Chalet Mathilda features not only an indoor swimming pool with jet stream but also a hammam.

On the ground floor is the fabulous wellness area with indoor swimming pool with jet stream and hammam (steam room). There is also a TV room / study / playroom which adds a useful degree of versatility and can even be used for an extra occasional bed.

On the first floor are four bedrooms all with private bathrooms decorated with fine Italian tiles and crisp white porcelain. The bedrooms and living room feature a wealth of beams and panels of old reclaimed wood, which makes them truly unique.

On the second floor, an authentic stone fireplace complements the spacious open plan living room and dining room and a large sun terrace adds to this already impressive area. The panoramic windows make the most of the dazzling alpine scenery. On the top floor is the fifth en-suite bathroom which is delight. Full of character and romance, it sits alone beneath the eaves and feels like staying in an original alpine chalet.

Located only a short walk or very short drive from the center of Val d'Isère, yet in a private and peaceful estate, Chalet Mathilda offers the very best in chalet skiing vacations and will suit both adult groups and families perfectly. All of our chalets are non-smoking inside.

Children are expertly looked after by a qualified private nanny. Our handpicked childcare team are qualified professionals, whose enthusiasm and nurturing abilities are in abundance, so much so that both parents and children often ask to take them home. In Val d’Isère our chalet guests have the choice of a private nanny or our exclusive Explorers kids club .

We look after children from as young as four months, making sure the entire family has a relaxed, fun and memorable vacation. Our team organize age appropriate activities and can take the older ones to and from ski school, allowing you to spend all day on the slopes. A nutritious lunch is served each day, as well as healthy snacks, with any dietary requirements taken into account and your child’s routine will be strictly adhered to. We can also provide a wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers on request, including nappies and wipes, usually free of charge. And if you’d like to go out in the evening, we can provide babysitting.

Explorers kids club : Run by qualified nannies, our purpose built kids club in Val d’Isere is available exclusively to guests and is open seven days a week. Each day promises an imaginative and entertaining program of both indoor and outdoor activities, so parents can spend the day on the slopes knowing your children are in expert hands. Snacks and lunches are freshly made each day and we also operate a driver service that can take your children to and from ski school.

Private nanny : All our nannies are fully qualified (CACHE trained or similar) and are carefully selected for their natural ability with children and their nurturing and fun approach. We provide rigorous pre-season training which includes a paediatric first aid course, water safety and spending time with our chefs learning how to prepare nutritious snacks and lunches. Available for five days a week, they ensure your children enjoy a range of activities, whilst adhering to their home routines. They can also take children to, and collect from ski school each day.

Babysitting : Babysitting can be arranged in the evenings and is chargeable by the hour (€20 for the first hour, then €10 per hour until midnight, and €20 per hour thereafter).

On entering chalet Mathilda, you are greeted by the view of the fabulous Wellness area with the indoor swimming pool with jet stream and steam room. Also on the ground floor is the ski/boot area with boot warmers. The separate TV room is a great facility offering children their own space to relax or watch TV. Alternatively it can be used to accommodate an extra person if your party is bigger than 10 or it can provide a quiet office space if required.

In the living area, Mathilda is equipped with flat screen, satellite TV, DVD player and sound system. There is also a selection of games.

Swimming pool : Indoor swimming pool (4.4m x 6.0m) with jet stream. Pool room benefits from integrated sound system.

Balcony : The large South facing balcony outside living area is an ideal place to soak up the sun.

Steam room : Steam room ideal for soothing aching limbs after a long day of skiing. Seats 4.

Lounge : Large flat screen TV with UK channels, Blu-ray DVD player, Apple TV and bluetooth soundbar.

Ski/Boot room : Boot room with boot warmers and space for ski and snowboard equipment and personal belongings.

Chalet Mathilda has five bedrooms all featuring traditional wooden beams and Moroccan style ceilings. Four of the five bedrooms are on the first floor, making it ideal for families as parents and children can have neighboring rooms. All bedrooms have TVs with UK channels, and the spacious master suite benefits from both bath and separate shower. The lovely fifth room on the third floor under the eaves is also worthy of the "master" title. Each room has an en-suite bath or shower room decorated with a mixture of wood and modern slate tiles. All bedrooms have electronic safes.

Room 1 Twin/Double : A lovely room that can fit a cot and extra bed. It has an en-suite with bath and separate shower. One of four rooms located on the first floor. TV with UK channels.

Room 2 Twin/Double : Located on the first floor alongside rooms 1, 3 and 4, there is space for a cot and extra bed. Equipped with an en-suite bathroom with bath and overhead shower. TV with UK channels.

Room 3 Twin/Double : The smallest room in this beautiful chalet. Located on the first floor, next to rooms 1, 2 and 4, there is an en-suite bath with shower attachment. TV with UK channels.

Room 4 Twin/Double : Located on the first floor next to rooms 1, 2 and 3. This bedroom is large enough to accommodate a cot and extra bed. Equipped with an en-suite bath with shower attachment. TV with UK channels.

Room 5 Twin/Double : Room 5 is the only room located on the mezzanine - on the very top level, above the lounge/dining area. There is space for a cot and extra bed. Equipped with en-suite shower. TV with UK channels.
