Location: where is Chalet Mariefleur

Chalet Mariefleur is located in the popular resort of Méribel, which sits at the heart of the World's largest connected ski area, The Three Valleys. As the central resort in the area, Méribel is the perfect choice of resort from which to explore all of this vast ski area. Chalet Mariefleur is located in the Mussillon area of Méribel, a popular and pretty hamlet of traditional chalets which sits on the main route into the resort, just a little below the centre. The chalet is only a twelve minute stroll from the centre of Méribel. To get to the ski slopes, we'd recommend taking the free shuttle bus. There is a bus stop roughly 100 metres outside the chalet, from there it's just a couple of minutes at most to the base of the lifts. We also operate two other chalets in close proximity, Chalet Marielaine is just next door sharing the same building as Chalet Brioche, which could make this a great option for a larger group of friends or family looking to stay close to one another.

This accommodation only holiday to Chalet Mariefleur in Meribel & Mottaret, France departs Sunday 9th March 2025, for a 7 night stay on a "self catering" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...

"Best First Chalet experience EVER"

Ryan Short
5/ out of 5
1. Fantastic Hosts: Malcolm and Helen were excellent, very accommodating to my finiky eating wasy, any request was never too much and we felt totally at home and at ease as soon as we arrived. 2. Great Facilities: Despite being the last couple to book a room, the room (we believe probably the worst of an excellent bunch) was very comfortable, homely and more space than needed 3. Cleanliness and facilities of communal areas: very smartly furnished and cleverly laid out to promote socialising in comfort and style 4. OUTDOOR HOT TUB was great for a sophistocated apres ski...when the folie douche 3 days in a row got too much, a couple of bottles of champagne, a couple of newly made friends and a hot tub with a view was a perfect way to relax 5.The bus boys - no matter what time in the morning you asked for your pick up (we were always the early crew at 8.40), the bus boys were very happy and jolly...equally when wed spent too long in the Ronnie and needed a lift home, they were more than happy to help! The only item I may change is the breakfast start time...breakfast starting at 8 meant it was a push for us to make it out of the door for our lift at 8.40 since the cooked breakfast is made fresh to order (fantastic!!!) but was a slight rush. A move to 7.45 would have allowed that extra bit of comfort time.

"Fantastic week in Meribel"

Great week skiing in Meribel in some of the hottest conditions I have ever experienced. Malcolm and Helen were fantastic hosts and catered for all the various dietary requirements in our party with ease. The only annoyance was the hot tub which fires the jets every 20 minutes throughout the night and as it is located on the balcony outside some of the rooms you can constantly hear it which makes for a broken nights sleep.

"Improvements Needed"

Considering the cost of the holiday I feel a number of improvements could be made. Firstly I don't think the quality of food is up to scratch, serving fish in the alps is a bad idea and the seabream we had was not good at all. Having such small quantities of shampoo and shower gel were quickly used and no effort by the hosts to use initiative to replace them was made. I would also say that our male host wasn't overly friendly and could have made more of an effort. However any queries we had were quickly answered. I would say your biggest credit is the drivers who are incredibly friendly and helpful.

We have just enjoyed a fantastic week with Helen and Malcolm in chalet mariefleur. Wonderfully cheerful hosts who did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay. Food was excellent throughout especially the afternoon cakes. Beds very comfy, hot tub now outside got extensive use. Two small suggestions 1) find a way to extend wi-fi coverage to downstairs bedrooms 2)shower hose in bathroom for bedroom 2 needs to be longer for those of us over 6 foot! Thanks for a great week Steve
