We really enjoyed staying in Chalet Les Andes: the hosts were really nice, the food was good, our triple room was fine and it was so nice having a pool! It wasn’t too far from the slopes (if you don’t mind walking maybe a couple of hundred metres). All in all, couldn’t complain! + more

This is a really nice chalet with a nice atmosphere and a nice layout. I’ve stayed in lots of places in Tignes and this is among the better ones. The staff were really helpful and friendly. It could have been a bit closer to the slopes but it can’t help that! It took me 5 minutes which isn’t too long. Out of... + more

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

"Chalet Les Andes Feb 2016"

The chalet was very nice and it was great to have the pool downstairs. The only snag was that it had a sauna but the staff kept forgetting to put it on. It took a couple of hours to heat up once they had put it on, and this happened a couple of times – not a biggie but something that could have been better. The staff were very friendly and the food was alright given they were basically just young adults putting meals together. We weren’t expecting cordon bleu but from a bunch of young people it was fine. From the description of the chalet it seemed a lot more convenient than it was. Not that the location was dreadful, it just wasn’t as easy as we’d expected. You had to trek through a back garden and slide down the hill, while beginners who couldn’t have managed the hill would have to walk up for about 10 minutes to the centre of the village. We’d deliberately booked a later flight back but ended up being put on a coach with an earlier flight, so we had for wait a while at the airport which was a bit annoying.

"Good food, near slopes & great to have a pool"

This is a really nice chalet with a nice atmosphere and a nice layout. I’ve stayed in lots of places in Tignes and this is among the better ones. The staff were really helpful and friendly. It could have been a bit closer to the slopes but it can’t help that! It took me 5 minutes which isn’t too long. Out of 10 I’d say the food was an 8.5-9, I was quite happy with it and there was plenty to go around. We shared a double room with 3 beds which was fine, nice balcony.
