Location: where is Chalet Le Bollin

The penthouse is situated within the Bollin block in Val Claret. This is ski-in ski-out, with the Lanches, Bollin-Fresse and Tichot chairlift, all within a 2 minutes ski away. The shops of Val Claret are also a couple of minutes walk away.

Overview: apartment description: Chalet Le Bollin description

Chalet Le Bollin was originally built as the year round home of Pierre Schnebelen, the famous owner of Tignes and developer of Val Thorens.. You can imagine that it is in the best home in the best position in the resort.

The penthouse is over 2,000 square feet and provides plenty of space and privacy in its 5 bedrooms – three of which are en suite - and the spacious reception areas. There is also a family bathroom and a downstairs toilet.

Fabulous light and views

The light and views from the apartment are fabulous, where you can enjoy seeing your friends and family skiing past.

You can watch the freestyle on the half pipe, see the slalom action, the glacier and the great runs such as Double M and Carline. You can watch the freestyle on the half pipe, see the slalom action, the glacier and the great runs such as Double M and Carline. It's located right opposite the Funicular going up to the glacier on Grande Motte and by the Bollin/Fresse lift.

The Tichot and Lanches lifts are also very close. From the two heated balconies you can see the skiing and get right up close using the mounted binoculars. The major fit out done this year is to a very high standard, using work from several of France's, Italy's and Denmark's top designers.

Sub Zero wine fridge

The spacious kitchen is by Bulthaup with some special appliances including built in Miele coffee maker and a Sub Zero wine fridge and of course all the usual stuff like ovens, dishwasher and washer/drier.

You can sit at the solid ash breakfast bar on a classic Starck bar chair or at the Tablemakers handmade oak table on Wegner wishbone chairs or Philippe Starck Hudson chairs designed for the New York hotel of that name which feature in the American museum of modern art.Cutlery is handmade by David Mellor

New baths, showers and plenty of hot water

In the lounge area are ultra comfortable leather Frank settees designed by Anthony Citterio for B and B Italia.

These are big enough to lie down on and perfect for lazy evenings with plenty of large cushions. The room is wired for sound with a Bose 48 system and a 52 inch TV.The master bedroom on the same floor has a large bathroom which like all the bathrooms in the apartment is new this year.It contains a good bath, plus stall shower, basin and toilet.

Next is the dressing room with two mirrored wardrobes and then the bedroom with an ultimate Royal Auping powered adjustable bed 180cm wide.It has heating and airing, if you want it, a large mirror, its own heated balcony with small table and chairs.

The number two bedroom upstairs could be called a suite with another large 180cm Royal Auping bed and some of the best views in the resort.

This room also doubles as a personal gym with a Techno gym kinesis Vision system providing more than 200 resistance exercises and an exercise ball.It also has a built in wardrobe and access to its en suite bathroom.

Mountain views

The third en suite bedroom is smaller but still a good size, with a high pitched ceiling and mountain views from windows on both sides. This room has a good quality 160cm wide sprung double bed.

The other two bedrooms upstairs have 90cm wide sprung beds which can be used apart or together, high ceilings, good views.

These rooms are served by the family bathroom which is again new and like the other three all have baths or showers and plenty of hot water. All bedrooms have Bose Sound docks for iPods.

Back downstairs to the atrium hallway, the floor is real stone like the bathrooms and balconies, and there is a full size ski and boot room with a built in boot warmer.

In all, it is a fabulous home in a great location 2,150 metres high in Espace Killy with a range of good restaurants, bars, clubs, a small supermarket, and shops nearby. We hope that you like it as much as we do.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...
