From the moment you step into Chalet La Varappe, you know you’re somewhere rather special. Originally built by Mr Pomagalski (founder of the world-leading company, Poma), much of the interior is clad in the wood cleared whilst building the lift system in Méribel, giving the chalet an incredibly authentic and alpine-esque ambience. With its welcoming warmth and attention to detail, it’s not surprising that until now, La Varappe has been a private home. Now an exciting addition to our portfolio of exclusive chalets, it can at last be enjoyed by those looking for homely luxury after a long day on the slopes. The heart of La Varappe is its alluringly cosy yet sumptuous sitting room. With its striking stone fireplace, exquisite artworks, intriguing antiques and quintessentially English furnishings, you’ll feel like you could curl up on the sofa forever. The dining room’s laden bookcases and opulent furnishings promise a relaxed yet sophisticated culinary experience. And with 10 seats at the table, it’s a fantastic spot to get together over beautiful food and wine. Its spacious terraces, garden and private outdoor hot tub allow you to marvel at the mountains even after you’ve kicked off your skis. The chalet also offers a steam room for aching muscles, a TV/games room and, of course, a large ski and boot room. Located in the centre of Méribel, Chalet La Varappe sleeps 10 people in supreme comfort within five beautifully designed bedrooms, each with an en-suite bath or shower room. There is an additional attic bedroom suitable for two or more children.

Exquisite Food & Wine
The cuisine offered is a huge part of what sets a holiday apart. Eating has always been a memorable experience, akin to eating in a top quality restaurant. And we are proud that, in a recent competition run by The Times newspaper in which scores of excellent companies were nominated by the public, and won the Times Chalet Chef 2010 award. So our food has been independently rated as the best cooking in the Alps. Setting yourself up for a great day on the slopes and rewarding yourself afterwards are some of the best elements of a skiing holiday. You'll start your day with a beautifully presented breakfast of fruit juices, fresh coffees, teas, yoghurts, cereals, porridge, eggs, jambon cru, cheeses, fresh fruit salad, fresh bread and freshly baked croissants and jams. After your day on the slopes, homemade cakes and biscuits await you in the sitting room. Dinner is the pièce de résistance. Before your meal, canapés and champagne allow you to unwind in true style. You're then treated to an exceptional four-course meal, rounded off with freshly ground coffee, a digestif and homemade truffles. We're more than happy to tailor your meals to your dietary preferences. A range of teas, coffees and fresh fruit are available at any time along with a complimentary bar of champagne, wine, spirits, beer and mixers. Beautiful cuisine deserves only the finest wine, which is why our wine list is composed by the acclaimed Master of Wine and owner of Savage Selection wines, Mark Savage. Mark brings interesting, small production wines to the table, all deeply characteristic of their origin and beautiful paired with our food. What better way to end a fantastic day on the slopes? During dinner, you will be served – at the chef’s discretion – a selection of wines from our cellar (a different red and white each evening). We offer a choice of brut, non vintage champagnes “on tap” (in other words, you can drink it whenever you wish): Taittinger Cuvee Prestige and Veuve Clicquot.
Bar
Each chalet is also stocked with an open bar of spirits, beers and soft drinks. And if we don’t normally stock your favourite tipple just let us know and we will get it for you. Some premium brands/drinks are excluded.
Digestifs
Finish your evening with a digestif from from the chalet’s well stocked bar.

•3 Valleys ski area •Excellent ski schools •Lively après ski
Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.
