Overview: chalet description: Chalet La Petite Pia description

A charming home-from-home in the Alps

Located in the heart of Méribel, La Petite Pia is quite simply enchanting. With cosy corners and roaring fires, this delightful chalet blends fantastic modern facilities with a truly homely feel, making it a relaxing escape from a long day on the slopes. And with extensive views from its large, sunny balconies, you can continue to enjoy the Alps even when the skis are off. Spread over three beautifully furnished floors, the interior boasts stunning polished wood and tiled flooring and in true alpine style, wood-paneled walls. From the sumptuous furniture to the luxurious rugs and warm lighting, it’s clear La Petite Pia has been lovingly decorated by its interior designer owner. The chalet’s heart has to be its split-level convivial living and dining area, complete with a hand-warming fireplace, high ceilings, well-equipped bar and ‘snug’ TV room on the mezzanine. The enormous and warmly decorated master suite lives on the middle floor. With its private sitting room, en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, you’ll feel truly spoilt day and night. And for a quiet moment enjoying the views, the large picture windows open onto the bedroom’s secluded balcony, which proudly shows off the west side of the valley. The large and elegant second bedroom features charming wood-paneled walls, its own small balcony and separate bathroom, complete with a very inviting claw-foot bath. The lower floor has a further five smaller but nonetheless enchantingly decorated bedrooms: two with private bathrooms and one with an en-suite. There’s also a small office area with PC and a second spacious cinema/play/day room with doors leading out to the large private lower terrace and garden. And for melting away your day on the slopes, the huge outdoor hot tub awaits you. Combine this exceptional chalet with outstanding service and gourmet quality cuisine, and you have the makings of a truly unforgettable holiday.

Meals: Chalet La Petite Pia food & drink

Exquisite Food & Wine

The cuisine offered is a huge part of what sets a holiday apart. Eating has always been a memorable experience, akin to eating in a top quality restaurant. And we are proud that, in a recent competition run by The Times newspaper in which scores of excellent companies were nominated by the public, and won the Times Chalet Chef 2010 award. So our food has been independently rated as the best cooking in the Alps. Beautiful cuisine deserves only the finest wine, which is why our wine list is composed by the acclaimed Master of Wine and owner of Savage Selection wines, Mark Savage. Mark brings interesting, small production wines to the table, all deeply characteristic of their origin and beautiful paired with our food. What better way to end a fantastic day on the slopes?

What To Expect

Setting yourself up for a great day on the slopes and rewarding yourself afterwards are some of the best elements of a skiing holiday. You'll start your day with a beautifully presented breakfast of fruit juices, fresh coffees, teas, yoghurts, cereals, porridge, eggs, jambon cru, cheeses, fresh fruit salad, fresh bread and freshly baked croissants and jams. After your day on the slopes, homemade cakes and biscuits await you in the sitting room. Dinner is the pièce de résistance. Before your meal, canapés and champagne allow you to unwind in true style. You're then treated to an exceptional four-course meal, rounded off with freshly ground coffee, a digestif and homemade truffles. We're more than happy to tailor your meals to your dietary preferences. A range of teas, coffees and fresh fruit are available at any time along with a complimentary bar of champagne, wine, spirits, beer and mixers. During dinner, you will be served – at the chef’s discretion – a selection of wines from our cellar (a different red and white each evening). We offer a choice of brut, non vintage champagnes “on tap” (in other words, you can drink it whenever you wish): Taittinger Cuvee Prestige and Veuve Clicquot.

We update Chalet La Petite Pia's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...
