Beautifully refurbished old auberge 150m from the lift, ski home, 3 fabulous family suites, spacious living area, log fire and an outdoor hot tub.
Chalet L’Eau Vive sits next to the stream at the entrance to this quiet village and sleeps 12-14.
On the first floor there are three beautifully refurbished and spacious family suites. Each one accommodates a family of 4-5 in a double bedroom and adjoining bunk room. The chalet has a large open-plan dining and living area, separate TV/DVD room, a ski and boot room, washing machine and tumble dryer and a splendid outdoor hot tub with fabulous views of the mountain, river and forest, the perfect spot for relaxing at the end of the day. The telecabine is just 150m up the village and you can ski back to the chalet. We have installed Starlink wifi.
It is hardly surprising that people are prepared to drive to Ardent, after all, Snow-forecast.com give Montriond/Ardent a solid five out of five for ‘snowsure’ and state it is ‘snowsure even in the poorest seasons’. (Montriond is the commune down the valley which gives its name to the skiing area reached by the Ardent Bubble). Lucky guests just need to step out of their chalet door to benefit from this great reputation!
Avoriaz with its 2000+ m pistes, the place to be near when snow is in demand, is just two lifts away from Ardent Village.
The Powder Hounds are given lunch in Chalet L’Eau Vive and enjoy activities in their ‘Den’ on the lower ground floor during the afternoons. Breakfast is served in the chalet and your cook or host will prepare dishes from our breakfast menu. Please note that two staff occupy a separate top floor studio…
All of our Chalets are ideal for a perfect family ski holiday.
We know that parents skiing with children can only relax and enjoy their ski holiday when they are sure that their children are safe, happy and well looked after. So we have created childcare clubs to cater for babies from a few months old to adventurous teenage skiers with options to suit all families.
Our staff are warm and caring with excellent experience or qualifications. They genuinely enjoy entertaining and caring for children and it is their enthusiasm that ensures all our guests have a wonderful holiday. All staff are fully trained and most staff are First Aid trained.
This club is for children aged 7 years up to and including 13 year olds who have lots of energy and love being outdoors.
This club is for children aged 4 – 6 years who are ready to start skiing but don’t want to spend the whole day on the slopes. Instead this club is designed to give younger skiers lots of fun both in the snow and out of it.
*Skiing lessons available from 3 years 9 months in Reberty and Les Coches and 3 years 6 months in Ardent with a peace of mind option of reserving a place in Powder Pups if skiing under age 4. This option is Powder Pups Plus.
The club for non-skiing, pre-school children.
The Chesery suite accommodates a family of 4/5 in a double bedroom and adjoining bunk room for your children, with space for a further bed or cot. It is fully ensuite with shower, WC and basin. The suite has a view over the mountains.
The Chavache suite accommodates a family of 4 in an L-shaped room with a double and bunk bed section for your children, with space for a further bed or cot. It opens onto a traditional wooden balcony with views. There is an ensuite shower room with shower, WC and basin.
The Cascade suite accommodates a family of 4/5 in a double bedroom and adjoining separate bunk room for your children, with space for a further bed or cot. It opens onto a traditional wooden balcony with views of the stream and mountains and is fully ensuite with shower with shower, WC and basin.
Our food is well thought out, freshly prepared and cooked in the chalets on 6 evenings. Where possible we use local butchers, bakers and greengrocers and we offer a cheese board with locally sourced cheese. We can provide vegetarian, vegan and coeliac options at no extra charge but they must be booked 2 weeks before you travel. If you have any other requirements please discuss before booking. We continuously refresh our menus and this season will see some exciting changes.
Breakfast – In our larger chalets a member of the chalet team will prepare fresh eggs, bacon and porridge. Fresh French bread, a selection of jams, yogurts and cereals is also available for you to help yourself to, alongside freshly brewed coffee and tea. In our smaller sole occupancy chalet (Chalet Camille) breakfast is self-service with the same delicious options available – and again with no clearing or washing up as your chalet host will do this!
Children’s Lunch – Lunch is an opportunity for adult guests to try the fabulous piste side offerings whilst for those children booked into our childcare clubs there is hot and wholesome food included.
Afternoon Tea – When you return from skiing there will be a freshly baked cake or biscuits waiting for you with baguettes and fruit as well as tea and coffee left out for you to prepare.
Children’s Supper – Our children’s menus use tried and tested recipes from cooks like Annabel Karmel and Rachel Allen. We make pureés for babies, it’s all fresh – not from jars! Children’s supper is usually served at 5:30pm and is a two-course meal prepared using wholesome freshly cooked ingredients – we do ask that parents supervise this meal but staff will again be on hand to clear away.
Adult’s Dinner – Our delicious adult three course evening meals are served from 8:00pm designed to appeal to everyone. Canapés followed by a dinner-party style starter, main and dessert with a cheese board available for those with a hearty appetite, all served with unlimited red and white wine options.
Family Food Option – In our smaller sole occupancy chalets ( Rulens, Camille) guests have the option of either the above separate evening dining or the option of eating together a delicious meal of canapés, freshly prepared homely style main and comforting desserts. Example main courses include hearty and healthy cottage pie, roast, vegetable stir-fry, and home made burgers. Desserts include tarte tatin, brioche bread and butter pudding and cheesecake. The Family Food option is served 6:00-7:00pm along with the same selection of high quality wines for adults. This option must be pre-booked at least 2 weeks before travel for one or two families in the above chalets only. Unfortunately we can’t offer this option in the larger shared chalets due to seating and service constraints.
Cook’s Night Off – Our hard-working chalet cooks receive a night off midweek. Families can eat together at a choice of local restaurants or parents can enjoy an evening out, with babysitters available to look after your children in the chalet with a pre-ordered takeaway.
Allergies – We take your health seriously and can cope with most allergies, but you must put your requirements in writing to us to enable us to pass the information over to staff who are preparing your food. If you have any questions please do call us in advance as it can be difficult to source some items in France.
Dietary Requests – If you or your children have any dietary requests these again must be put in writing to enable us to let the staff know in resort. Specific ‘dislikes’ for instance, no peas or carrots are not considered to be valid requests. We can provide gluten free cakes and pasta, and we can usually source soya and goat’s milk, yogurts and dairy-free spread.
