Overview: chalet description: Chalet l’Armoise (Val Claret) description

If you're looking for a comfortable, homely base and don't need hot tubs and home cinemas, the Armoise is ideal. It's a really great, no-frills chalet that ticks the boxes for location, great food, good views and a traditional feel.

You'll find the chalet on the shores on the lake near the village of Tignes Val Claret, the livelier of the two villages in Tignes. The view from the sitting room balcony rises up to the Grande Motte glacier. Relax with a slice of cake and watch the sunset change the colour of the mountains around you.

The lounge/diner is the real heart of the chalet. Relax and enjoy chatting with friends old and new in the traditionally furnished lounge. You get a lovely sense of warmth from all of the solid, hand-built furniture and wood-clad walls. It all makes for a classic ski chalet holiday.

Meals: Chalet l’Armoise (Val Claret) food & drink

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Breakfast is a fairly extensive affair with cooked and continental options every day. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.

Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and free-flowing wine throughout the week, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.

We update Chalet l’Armoise (Val Claret)'s details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...
