Location: where is Chalet Inoko

Le Cret. Chalet Inoko is set in a peaceful location amongst woods on a hillside. It is an 800 metre walk (350 metres of it steep) down to the village and the skiing.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Inoko description

This traditional wood-clad chalet is simply furnished with the advantage of separate living and dining rooms, both of which have log fires. The bedrooms are of a good size and there are 3 bathrooms to 5 bedrooms. The dining room has a large balcony from which to take in the views and relax in the sun after a day on the slopes. Inoko’s prices represent tremendous value for money in a resort of this calibre. Self-drivers please note that snow chains are advised, as the road to the chalet is often very snowy.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

"Terrific chalet & hosts, steep walk in"

Price wise and location the Inoko is really good. The chalet is a quirky little place, very nice in a lovely quiet location. 8 of us stayed here aged 28-45 and we had a really good holiday. The only thing is that you have a pretty steep walk up and down which isn’t very pleasant if it’s a bit icy because it’s the final chalet. The rooms are across three floors, I’d definitely recommend the top room – 4 of us stayed there and we had an amazing view over Val d’Isere. The 2 chalet guys were young but cooked up some wicked food; they even made a lot of their own puddings which were really good. It’s a no frills chalet so if you’re looking for somewhere with a jacuzzi and home comforts it’s not for you, also because of the location it wouldn’t be great if you didn’t want to walk far – e.g. if you have little children.

Often can be found with the absolute best prices of any catered chalet in VDI. With two living rooms, balconies throughout, and good sized rooms, this is a very popular choice for those who don’t mind earning their rest with a short stroll home. It's set back from the village and piste by 800 yards, and the route getting to and from the chalet can be considered steep by some (we didn't think so, but its best to share varied opinions here), meaning you can either hike up on foot, or pop your skis on and try a little bit of off-piste. The tranquillity is worth the effort, and in a world class resort like this, with raring nightlife, you get the best of both worlds from seclusion to nearby après ski. The unusually low prices in this chalet reflect the fact that its more basic and accessed by the steepish hill and there's usually no better priced way to stay in a catered chalet in arguably the world's greatest resort.

"Walk up steep slope, get a rare bargain in VDI"

It's set at the foot of the mountain rather than in the resort centre so, without a car, you have a 5-10 min trek up a long drive way depending on how tired your legs are. If you are doing this every day with ski hire it can get quite tiring, however that seems a small drawback considering is almost impossible to ski so cheap in what is a generally quite posh resort. Another bonus is that the chalet has excellent views overlooking the resort. It's really not flash at all (maybe a bit incongruous with its high end post code) but that's why it can be a real winner for bargain hunters who expect high standards from their skiing and resort, rather than their digs. In short, this is great for anyone who doesn’t mind a basic catered chalet in one of the world's top resorts.
