Above Lauterbrunnen, 300 m from the centre, in a quiet, sunny position on a slope, in the residential district, in a cul-de-sac, south facing position. For shared use: garden with lawn and plants. (slide, sandbox). In the house: storage room for bicycles, storage room for skis, central heating system, washing machine, tumble dryer (for shared use, extra). 250 m long steep, narrow motor access. In Winter: please take snow chains. Parking at the house. Grocery 250 m, supermarket 550 m, restaurant 250 m, bus stop 300 m, railway station 700 m, outdoor swimming pool 300 m. Tennis 1.3 km, cable car, skisport facilities 700 m, ski bus stop 300 m, ski school 400 m, cross country ski track 1.2 km, ice field 1.3 km. Nearby attractions: Trümmelbachfälle, Schilthorn Piz Gloria, Jungfraujoch Top of Europe. Well-known ski regions can easily be reached: Wengen Männlichen, Mürren - Schilthorn. Well-known lakes can easily be reached: Thunersee, Brienzersee. Please note: car recommended. Ski bus (free of charge). In case of good snow conditions, the house is accessible on skis. The owner lives in the same residence.

After a hiking holiday here in 1911, Lauterbrunnen’s landscape formed J.R.R. Tolkein’s inspiration for the misty mountains and elven realm of Rivendell in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It’s easy to see the likeness: the ancient Walser village lies in a glacial trough, where cliffs plummet to the valley floor and craggy peaks teeter overhead. “Lauter Brunnen” means “many fountains”, referring to the 72 waterfalls that pour down rock faces along the valley, including the legendary Staubbach Fal...
The mountain railway gives access to Murren-Schilthorn ski area on one side of the valley as well as the Kleine Scheidegg-Mannlichen area above Wengen on the other. On the Murren-Schilthorn side, the ski area includes some of Europe’s greatest black runs, including the Schilthorn run from 2970m (part of the famous Inferno race, which links 15km of slopes back to Lauterbrunnen) and the Kandahar slope which gets seriously steep at points. The Horner is the only pub in the village, with a cosy, chilled out atmosphere where you can sit back with a beer and soak up the views from the terrace.
