Hotel was very good. It is well run and organised. The staff run a very tight ship, so everyone is very attentive. Rooms are ok, pretty standard for a 3 star. Really good time, great family room for our kids. They were aged 10 and 13 and they stayed on a mezzanine in the same room which gave them their own space. Sleeps 82. La Foret has been finished to a very high standard to give comfortable communal areas and large bedrooms. The lounge overlooks the large south-west Terrace and circular dining tables of 8 offer enough room for all guests and staff to sit down together to enjoy fabulous evening meals.

For your convenience Tea & Coffee facilities are available in the lounge between, 7:30am and 11:30pm.

This chalet features free WiFi, in-house private Ski & Boot hire, and a ski room with boot warmers.

There is off-road parking nearby, whilst indoor parking below the hotel is available for an extra charge. La Foret also features its own public bar and restaurant, La Caverne, which is equipped with satellite TV.

La Caverne not only serves as a welcomed drinks stop throughout the day, but it also offers a wonderful tasty lunchtime menu. Serving excellent meals and snacks at superb prices. You can also take your evening meal in La Caverne on the staff night off too.

Sleeps 82. All guest bedrooms are fully en-suite and the majority have balconies. A lift serves all floors, and two bedrooms have been specifically designed to be wheelchair friendly.

we know that one of the most important ingredients of any winter holiday is the food. At the end of a crisp day on the mountain, there is nothing better than sitting down with a glass of wine to enjoy a delicious three course evening meal and re-live the day’s adventures.

To get you started every morning we provide a hearty buffet of cereals, fresh French bread and jams, porridge, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, tea, and coffee. The cooked breakfast will also be available on 4 mornings. This breakfast is made up of 3 items which may include: bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, hash brown and tomatoes will set you up perfectly for a great day on the slopes.

On the remaining 3 mornings, we will be serving a continental breakfast which includes, fresh croissants, "Pain Au Chocolat", ham, cheese.

On your return, a daily delicious afternoon tea is provided of freshly baked cakes, bread and jams, including tea & coffee.

On 6 evenings you will enjoy a wonderful three course evening meal accompanied by complimentary table wine. On the festive last evening of the week the meal is followed by a delicious cheeseboard of local specialities and complimentary port.

The majority of our chefs have gained their skills in many restaurants and hotels, and are keen to share with you the results of those experiences. Even though many return year after year, all are involved in our in-depth annual training programme to ensure they are able to meet the standards our clients have come to expect.

As you'd expect from one of the biggest ski areas on the planet, there's everything from gorgeous tree-lined runs to wild, white-knuckle off-piste. Hotel was very good. It is well run and organised. The staff run a very tight ship, so everyone is very attentive. Rooms are ok, pretty standard for a 3 star. We don’t spend much time in there anyway. The breakfast was a bit of a let down. It was meant to be hot food every other morning, but this didn’t happen. We wanted a good breakfast to set us up for the day, so it was disappointing it that sense. The dinner was good, they bring the food out in unison so everyone eats at the same time. So there is no waiting around. Ski in/out at a push. You have a be a good skier to get to the slopes, otherwise you have to walk up a slope to access the piste. The bar was nice but there was not a lot of seating. So it got competitive for seats before/after dinner.

Really good time, great family room for our kids. They were aged 10 and 13 and they stayed on a mezzanine in the same room which gave them their own space. The room was very comfortable and wasn’t at all noisy. Gary, the manager really helped with the kids dietary requirements. He dealt with them being celiac amazingly. They had appropriate food snacks, bread, afternoon tea, cakes, they made sure there was no risk of cross-contamination of the food. Everyone liked the food, we sometimes, ate in the bar for lunch, which was a nice. Ski in ski out location. First time being in such a location and made such a difference, you can literally put your skis on go out the door. We booked late and struggled to find lessons, ended up booking group ESF lessons. The 13yr old had a great time because the group was mix of nationalities, the younger on not so much we ended getting private lessons for her which were much better.

We had a really good week overall, it had plus points and minus points… The staff were absolutely fantastic and clearly very happy in their jobs – some of the team had been coming back for a couple of years and the manager had been working there for ages. They all raved about their jobs and genuinely enjoyed them which was nice to see. There were a few things we would have wanted to improve. The cleanliness of our room wasn’t fantastic. We had to ask for our towels to be changed when we got there as they were stained. We had a quad room with 2 beds on a mezzanine floor and the carpet up there was absolutely filthy with stains which was quite unpleasant. The cleaners came in every day and did their jobs but things really needed a thorough clean/replacing. The rest of the chalet hotel is nice and well laid out. It’s definitely ski in ski out; you can’t argue with that. One thing we did find a bit hard was that the route you have to ski down got incredibly icy by the end of the day as it’s such a well-used trail. It was even quite icy in the mornings so nervous skiers or beginners might be put off. There wasn’t an easy alternative if you didn’t want to ski, it was quite a trek that wasn’t most pleasant. Vallandry itself was fine for us, but if you wanted a lot of après ski it might not be the best place for you. The food was kind of average, not amazing but at the same time there was nothing wrong with it. Real foodies who wanted great meals every night would have been disappointed, but I’ve definitely had worse food on chalet holidays. In terms of the people there, we met a nice mix of people which suited us. It was outside of the school holidays so there wasn’t loads of families, but I would imagine in the holidays would be popular for families because of the quad rooms. One thing to mention is that the WiFi wasn’t fantastic in the hotel. You really truly couldn’t get it in the bedrooms and had to be in the social area. It was the same with Sky TV – as soon as it started snowing you couldn’t access it. Not a major problem but worth knowing! The ski hire shop were fantastic and having that on site made a difference. They don’t have a huge range of equipment but the guy there is absolutely brilliant. He helped my friend to fix her snowboard and she hadn’t even hired it from him, and he gave us loads of advice on the resort. All in all, I would definitely recommend the chalet hotel and all things considered I would stay here again.

On the way home, again you can step straight from the piste back into the chalet. The communal and dining areas are well decorated and clean. The Chalet sleeps around 70 so there is a good mix of people to meet and eat with each night. The food was fantastic, always a great standard in their chalets. Afternoon tea was always good and plenty to go around. One excellent point about this valley is the cafe/bar attached. Great for a après ski drink without having to put your hat, gloves and scarf on again and march into town. Also good for a quick night cap. There is an in house boot hire, which for us is a must. Your get your boots organised quickly at the beginning of your holiday and there is no lugging your gear back to the hire shop on the last day of your holiday. Overall a fantastic chalet with friendly staff, great food and a location that cannot be bettered.
