A fantastic time, we really enjoyed it! We got a very good deal as we booked a couple of weeks before, so couldn’t be picky – but actually there was nothing to be picky about! Head to the Escapade if you're looking for convenience and a welcoming place to rest your head and ski legs. It sits right next to a piste on a small side road, ensuring it's a quiet but handy place to spend your holidays. The chalet hotel has a subtle contemporary feel, yet still retains its mountain charm with plenty of wooden décors.

The entire wellness area has been refurbished to make it a really relaxing place to soothe away any aches and pains. The outdoor hot tub is a particular treat. Dunk your head under and wait for your hair to freeze whilst watching people make their final turns of the day on the slopes.

Those looking to mix with like-minded holidaymakers will love the chalet-style dining and cosy bar area. Grab a drink, a seat and a board game in one of the snug areas then settle down for some proper old-fashioned evening entertainment.

We've refurbished the entire wellness area to make it a 'go to' place to soothe any aches and pains away. Enjoy the indoor hot tub, sauna and steam room, or for a real treat, grab a spot in the outdoor hot tub and watch the sunset as you relax with friends new and old.

MEALS AT Chalet Hotel Escapade, Alpe d'Huez

Our chalet board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Breakfast is a fairly extensive affair with cooked and continental options every day. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.

Evening meals are a three-course set-menu with regionally inspired dishes and served with complimentary wine, all followed by fresh coffee. We provide evening meals on six nights a week leaving you free to head out and explore the resort on one evening.

The hotel's 28 ensuite rooms vary in size, sleeping between two and four people. All have been partly refurbished with new soft furnishings and wall art. Some have views out across the slopes and some have a balcony too. The bathrooms are small but well appointed and the toilet is often separate.

With a transfer time of around 2 hours, Alpe d'Huez is very accessible from Grenoble or Chambery airport. Established in 1936, it was the first resort in France to be installed with a fully operational ski lift. The resort lies in the Grandes Rousses Massif domain. "Fantastic family holiday"

A fantastic time, we really enjoyed it! We got a very good deal as we booked a couple of weeks before, so couldn’t be picky – but actually there was nothing to be picky about! It’s a very nice hotel, not too big and everyone seemed friendly. The rooms were fine and the food was great, there was plenty of it and the children ate everything. Access to the ski area was via one of those yoghurt pot things and took about 15 minutes to get up there (in more snow you could probably just jump on the slope). Getting back was fine as you can just ski. The only drawback was that the Wi-Fi was really bad.
