This authentic mountain chalet’s dripping in alpine character, from its green shutters to its little wooden balconies. And things are just as charming inside, with its traditional reception filled with old photos and antique furniture. It’s just a 10-minute stroll to Livigno’s lively centre, so you can easily get in for a bit of après, before heading back to the quieter outskirts when it’s time to turn in. Plus, you can catch the free ski bus from down the road, so you don’t have to lug your kit to the slopes each morning.

The rooms here have a wholesome and comfy feel, with no-frills pine furniture and clean white walls. You’ll start your mornings in the little breakfast room, where you’ll tuck into a simple spread of toast, cereal and cold cuts. And when the hunger hits, there are heaps of restaurants in town, with everything from traditional trattorias to gourmet dining spots.
