Location: where is Chalet Chardonnet

In a highly desirable lakeside location, Chalet Chardonnet in Tignes Le Lac is the perfect choice if you're looking for a hassle free holiday in this fabulous snow-sure resort. If you take the main road from Tignes le Lac towards Val Claret, Chalet Chardonnet is located on the left-hand side just after you've passed the Tignespace sports centre. The Tovière gondola is just 200m away from the chalet, or if you fancy heading to Val Claret, whether to start your ski day or explore its bars and shops, the regular ski shuttle bus service stops just outside the chalet.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Chardonnet description

Chalet Chardonnet is a charming chalet, with masses of space, making it the perfect choice for a large family or group of friends, with eight en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to 15 guests. With its highly desirable lakeside location, the huge floor to ceiling windows offer magical views across the frozen waters, providing the perfect backwhilst enjoying après-ski aperitifs or dinner.

The chalet is spread over three storeys, with the entrance on the ground floor, where there is ample room for storing your skis and a heated boot dryer, so you'll have nice toasty feet each morning before setting off on the slopes.

After entering the chalet, the ground floor opens up into a large open plan living and dining, with a roaring log fire and exquisite views across the lake towards the Grande Motte Glacier. There is ample space for enjoying a sociable meal, or relaxing in front of the large flat screen television (with UK channels) with all your family and friends. Next to the dining room you'll find the semi-professional kitchen, set completely in stainless steel and fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and catetière. In addition to this, there is also a downstairs toilet and bedroom with two single beds (90cm x 190cm) with en-suite bathroom.

If you head downstairs to the garden level, there are two comfortable en-suite bedrooms, the larger of the two which has a bath, the other which has a shower. One of the bedrooms has two single beds (90cm x 190cm) and the second has a double bed (140cm x 190cm), plus an additional single bed (90cm x 190cm). In addition to the bedrooms, there's also a separate billiards room and for some added luxury, a Jacuzzi and sauna, perfect for easing away the aches and pains caused by a day of skiing.

Head back upstairs to the first floor and there you will find five bedrooms, three of which have two single beds (90cm x 190cm) and each with its own en-suite shower room. The fourth bedroom has a double bed (140cm x 190cm) and a bathroom and the fifth sleeps one in a double bed (140cm x 190cm) with an en-suite shower room.

If you're travelling by car, there is no parking available at the chalet itself, as due its altitude and heavy annual snowfall, it's not possible to park outdoors, as car's are at high risk of being completely snowed in. However, there is covered parking available for 90 Eur per week in Tignes Le Lac or a free, uncovered carpark in Tignes Les Boisses (5km away by free skibus).

Classic Contactless Catering Service

Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.

Our contactless catering service comes with the choice of two pricing options, a fixed menu with food and drink included in the price, and our à la carte option which allows you greater flexibility to eat and drink whatever you desire and the cost of the food is on supplement, at cost price, and depending on what produce you choose to order.

For those looking for a simple packaged chalet price, we are offering an all-inclusive price, which includes rental of the chalet and your food and drink for the week. Included will be breakfast, afternoon tea, a three course dinner on 6 out of 7 nights, plus unlimited wine and some beers. We have prepared a delicious menu for the week, with a mix of ready prepared meals from a local delicatessen and easy to cook dishes or sides. All that will be required from you is to pop a few things in the oven and throw together a few ingredients to make a simple salad, or steam a few vegetables as sides to your main meal.

Perhaps you want the freedom to choose your own menus, or perhaps you'd prefer to eat out more than one evening during the week, or you just love to cook yourself and enjoy the holidays where you have time to do this in a relaxed way. That's where our à la carte contactless catering service comes in. As an alternative to the service detailed above, we will also offer a lower rate, which does not include the food and drink for the week and we will give you the opportunity to order the food and drink of your choice, at the local hypermarket rates, and bill you for this afterwards. Four days before arrival, you will receive a comprehensive provisions list with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. That might be oven-ready meals, or the ingredients you'll need for Bolognaise, Soufflés or Cheese Fondues. Dry goods, dairy, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat or fish, beers, wines, champagne, whatever, all bought for you and stocked in advance.

Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able to provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.

*Please note that for the à la carte option, all food, drink, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and are not included in the chalet price. Provisions will be billed at cost price and can be ordered from the list that will be sent out to you, and ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates. For our fixed menu option, the price does not include ski hire and lift passes, but it does include breakfast and afternoon tea for 7 days, plus a 3-course dinner with beer and wine for 6 days.

We update Chalet Chardonnet's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. "Good location & chalet, food limited for a veggie"

Zoe Abel, Chelmsford

The area where the chalet’s located is really good - there’s a great little bar around the corner where we ended up spending most afternoons. We walked everywhere from the chalet rather than get the buses, you just walk down the road to get to the piste, it’s about a 5 or 10 minute walk which was fine for us. I stayed in Chalet Chardonett with a big group of 10 and it was fine for me and what I paid for it. The food wasn’t great but it was pretty good. I’m a veggie and there wasn’t much choice for meals but it was good enough and what you’d expect for the price.

"We enjoyed it"

We enjoyed it. Snow was OK, wind and temperature not so good (we were here at the beginning of January). It’s quite far to get to the lifts, about 10 to 15 minutes walking whist carrying skis which was not great, the walk was along the flat but it might be easier for people staying here to store their equipment in a locker nearer the lifts. Food and service were both OK.
