Chalet Castors is a rustic Savoyard chalet, located in the tranquil Mussillon district of Meribel and close to another of our chalet collection, Chalet Lou Traves. Meribel sits at the heart of the vast Three Valleys, the World's largest ski area. Chalet Castors is in a great position from which to explore this wonderful ski area, with the bus stop just a three minute walk from the chalet which will whisk you in no time at all down to the lift base at the Chaudanne. Meribel is a vibrant resort, with fabulous après-ski scene, some fantastic restaurants and excellent shopping. The centre of this bustling resort is just an 8-10 minute walk from the chalet, or a quick hop on the ski bus. A little closer to the chalet, at just 3 minutes walk away are the popular après spots, Brewers Den' craft beer bar and O'Sullivans' bar and club.
With five bedrooms, sleeping up to 11 guests, chalet Castor is a lovely property that would make the perfect base for a family or friends looking to explore the wonderful resort of Meribel. The exterior of the chalet is built of stone and timber, with a typically Savoyard interior of wood panelled walls and exposed wooden beams.
The chalet is set over three floors, with entrance to the chalet on the ground floor, where upon entering there is a ski room with heated boot rooms, perfect for ensuring you've got toasty warm boots before hitting the slopes each day.
Two of the five comfortable bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The first is a large family suite, made of two single beds (90 x 190cm) and bunk beds (90 x 190cm) with an en-suite shower room and WC. The second bedroom contains just one single bed (90 x 190cm) and also has its own en-suite shower room and WC. There are three more bedrooms on the second floor, one of which has two single beds (90 x 190cm) and the other two bedrooms both have a large double bed (140 x 190cm).
The living room, dining room and kitchen are all located on the first floor. The living is comfortable, warm and cosy thanks to the inviting open fireplace and comfortable sofas and chairs. There is a flat screen television in the living room, perfect if you're feeling tired and fancy a relaxing evening watching a good film in front of the fire. The dining room and living room are open plan, which creates a lovely communal space in which to enjoy this chalet. Outside of the dining room is a good sized balcony from which you can enjoy the magnificent views of the Meribel Valley. The kitchen is separate and fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster and cafetière, so you'll have everything you need to whip up a feast for all the family.
If you need to stay connected for work or to stream your favourite TV shows, there is free Wi-Fi throughout the chalet apartment. If you are travelling by car, there is space to park one car in front of the chalet.

Classic Contactless Catering Service
Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.
Our contactless catering service comes with the choice of two pricing options, a fixed menu with food and drink included in the price, and our à la carte option which allows you greater flexibility to eat and drink whatever you desire and the cost of the food is on supplement, at cost price, and depending on what produce you choose to order.
For those looking for a simple packaged chalet price, we are offering an all-inclusive price, which includes rental of the chalet and your food and drink for the week. Included will be breakfast, afternoon tea, a three course dinner on 6 out of 7 nights, plus unlimited wine and some beers. We have prepared a delicious menu for the week, with a mix of ready prepared meals from a local delicatessen and easy to cook dishes or sides. All that will be required from you is to pop a few things in the oven and throw together a few ingredients to make a simple salad, or steam a few vegetables as sides to your main meal.
Perhaps you want the freedom to choose your own menus, or perhaps you'd prefer to eat out more than one evening during the week, or you just love to cook yourself and enjoy the holidays where you have time to do this in a relaxed way. That's where our à la carte contactless catering service comes in. As an alternative to the service detailed above, we will also offer a lower rate, which does not include the food and drink for the week and we will give you the opportunity to order the food and drink of your choice, at the local hypermarket rates, and bill you for this afterwards. Four days before arrival, you will receive a comprehensive provisions list with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. That might be oven-ready meals, or the ingredients you'll need for Bolognaise, Soufflés or Cheese Fondues. Dry goods, dairy, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat or fish, beers, wines, champagne, whatever, all bought for you and stocked in advance.
Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able to provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.
*Please note that for the à la carte option, all food, drink, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and are not included in the chalet price. Provisions will be billed at cost price and can be ordered from the list that will be sent out to you, and ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates. For our fixed menu option, the price does not include ski hire and lift passes, but it does include breakfast and afternoon tea for 7 days, plus a 3-course dinner with beer and wine for 6 days.

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.
