Located on the lakeshore in Tignes Le Lac, Chalet Cairn is a catered and comfortable chalet on the lake shore. The owner is investing and updating the chalet for next season to make it even nicer. You also benefit from the wellness facilities included - there's a hot tub on the sun terrace and a cosmic sauna (a sauna with a viewing window) overlooking the lake and the mountain peaks beyond. Chalet Cairn is available to book exclusively as well as room by room.
The location is simply stunning with views across the lake to Val Claret and the Grand Motte glacier - at night you can even see the illuminated mountain face known as 'The Fingers', named after the narrow couloirs and ridges running down it. Chalet Cairn also offers you easy access to the Tignes and Val d'Isere ski area. It's just three minutes' walk to the slopes and Tovière gondola or Palafour chairlift in Tignes le Lac, and the free ski shuttle bus stops right outside the chalet on its way to Val Claret. There'll also be plenty of opportunity for you to explore the resort and its bars or restaurants as the resort centre is a two minute walk from the chalet or the slopes, perfect for après ski!
The owner takes great pride in the chalet and is constantly updating to keep it in aperfect condition for guests. All bedrooms in the property are decorated to a high quality and all feature en suite facilities; some also have a balcony. The living room and dining area are open plan, leading out to the sun terrace where you'll find the hot tub and sauna. You'll also find a heated ski and boot room as well as extra storage at the entrance of the chalet.
With Chalet Cairn, you'll benefit from our own chalet catering board basis and your chalet hosts are there to make your ski holiday as relaxed as possible. Your chalet host will prepare breakfast, afternoon tea and a four course dinner for you including a choice of wine, beer and soft drinks. Dinner service starts with an aperitif and nibbles which you can enjoy with friends or family in front of the lounge fireplace.

Children 11 years and under are welcome in the chalet on any date where one group books the entire chalet for their exclusive use. Otherwise children are allowed on peak dates only. For Winter 2024/25 these dates are:

Our catered chalets mean there is no need to worry about a shopping trip whilst on holiday, as you will be looked after by us from arrival right to departure.
Breakfast
A continental buffet breakfast is available on 7 mornings of your holiday. There’ll be a selection of cereals, bread and pastries from a local bakery, jams and spreads, local cheeses and charcuterie, yogurts and fresh fruits. We have Nespresso coffee machines in each chalet, along with teas, infusions, hot chocolates and fruit juices.
For 6 mornings of your holiday there’s a classic full cooked breakfast available, starting from 8am. Your hosts will take an order from you and get it prepared ahead of your big day on the slopes. Options include free range eggs, sausages, bacon, halloumi, mushrooms and tomatoes.
Afternoon Tea
A fresh cake will be baked and ready for your return from the slopes, 6 days of the week. Perfect to pair with the selection of teas, hot chocolate and Nespresso coffee, that’re in your chalet for you whenever you fancy.
Evening Meal
A 4-course set menu will be cooked and served by your chalet hosts on 6 evenings of your holiday. You’ll start your evening with an Aperitif and nibbles, where we have a choice of 2 Italian Proseccos from the Veneto region, one of which is a 0% alcohol option, beer and soft drinks.
The evening set menu has been designed to incorporate a variety of different cuisines, including classic French, Asian, Italian and British dishes. One evening the menu will be a delicious regional dish, from the area you are staying in.
After each homemade dessert there’s a selection of cheeses with fresh bread, crackers and chutney, along with coffee, tea or infusions.
There will be special celebration menus on Christmas Day & New Year's Eve.
Wine and Drinks
During your evening meal guests can indulge in our carefully selected complimentary local wines, which consists of a choice of 3 red, 3 white and 1 rosé. All of the wines have been carefully chosen so that there is a great variety and offer something to cater for all tastes and that pairs well with the menu.
For those guests that don’t drink wine, there is a selection of beer (both with and without alcohol), sparkling mineral water and soft drinks.
