Overview: chalet description: Chalet Bois d'Emeraude description

STUNNING STAND ALONE CHALET FOR 8 GUESTS

Bois d'Emeraude has become one of our guests' favourite chalets - because it is amazing! It has been totally refurbished by the owner, a charming local architect who knows a thing or two about building fabulous Alpine chalets as he has been repsonsible for some of Courchevel's most remarkable properties.

Set in large private grounds, surrounded by forest, there is an air of class and privacy about Bois d'Emeraude. All 4 bedrooms are very spacious and have their own bath, separate shower, double hand basins and wc.

The large lounge area centres around the original stone log fireplace and is very comfortable and airy. Perfect for pre-dinner drinks...then walk through to the dining area which sits next to the smart open plan kitchen, where things have been designed with efficiency as well as aesthetics.

The outdoor hot tub at the rear of the chalet is wonderfully private and the steam room is extremely popular. And there is even a private massage room too - ask your chalet host to book you a massage with a local firm. Bois d'Emeraude is a real gem.

Dinner service is informal as we want you to feel at home in your chalet. Enjoy a home-made three course dinner using fantastic fresh produce.

Relax with coffee and chocolates after dinner… if you have any room left!

Nestled in the forests between Courchevel and Meribel offering excellent access to both resorts, La Tania is known as the Three Valleys' best-kept secret. Proud to be eco-friendly, the resort facilities are powered by a hydro-electric system and has a car-free centre. Despite its modernity, the village has been designed in-keeping with traditional wooden Savoyard architecture, integrated amongst the beautiful forest scenery. The local businesses are mostly Brit-owned, but visitors can still find very French si...
Long green, blue and red tree-lined slopes overlook the village, and the Three Valleys provides a ginormous amount of opportunities for all different abilities. You can make your way over to Courchevel and Meribel on skis alone. There is a wide range of ski and snowboard schools offering group and private lessons for all ages. There are gentle green runs for novices from the top of the gondola all the way back down to the centre. The blue run ‘Folyères’ on the other side of the lifts is a great place to de...
After a day on the slopes, La Tania is a peaceful base to unwind in. The atmosphere is mostly quiet and relaxed, but some après fun can be found. Le Bouc Blanc is a popular restaurant at the top of the gondola from the village, ideal for relaxing in the sun with a drink on a deckchair. Great value for money, prices are a fraction to those in other places. Pub Le Ski Lodge attracts most of the nightlife, hosting regular live music performances and themed nights. The crowds gather for happy hour, and they air the...

Everything was fantastic! We thought the chalet was lovely and nice big rooms. We were there with the family of the chalet hosts, who we got on well with too. The wifi was a bit rubbish, that was the only thing, but everything else was great. The actual chalet was really superb. The food and everything was good. As with a lot of chalets nowadays, I think it’s a bit overly complicated with the food being more like gourmet. Particularly when catering for British families, everyone loves nice food and you like feeling a bit fancy a couple of nights, but it would be nice to also have some nights to just have a homely meal or something a bit more simple like lasagne, but maybe that doesn’t appeal to some people, I’m not sure. To get to the slopes we just walked along the road and then we cut up the back, we didn’t quite go to the main steps. We found a little shortcut that obviously other people had found and then cut up the back of that which came out right by the bottom of the lift. I would say it was about 5mins, nothing much more than that. To get to the centre of town is a bit further though.
