Châtel is a charming village with an authentic centre and sprawling suburbs. After a day on the slopes Châtel offers a lot of possibilities to enjoy yourself in the restaurants, bars and / or nightclubs.

Chalet Alpaca was built in 1993. A few years back, the living room was enhanced with a beautifully bright bay window, lovely lounge sofas, and just fantastic views. The chalet is located in the cozy, traditional centre of Chatel near the ski lifts. It is a generously built house and very suitable for both individual bookings and group bookings. After a long day of sports activities in the cold, the sauna and fireplace offer warmth and relaxation. There are many car parking spaces available at the chalet.

What is included?

Included:

  • 7 x overnight;
  • 7 x breakfast;
  • 6 x 3-course dinner;
  • All drinks (excluded strong alcoholic drinks);
  • Bedding;
  • Firewood if a fireplace is present;
  • Sauna use (between 17:00 and 19:00), if present in the catered chalet;
  • Dutch / English speaking chalet staff to prepare breakfast and dinner, home care, information and assistance in arranging ski passes, ski rental and ski school.

Excluded:

  • Strong alcoholic drinks;
  • Lunch;
  • Tourist tax;
  • Snacks on returning home (if desired by booking extra our Comfort Package);
  • Towels (if desired by booking extra);
  • Travel and cancellation insurance (if desired);

This accommodation only holiday to Chalet Alpaka in Chatel, France departs Saturday 28th March 2026, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. Châtel’s architecture is gloriously traditional, built using local resources in classic chalet style with huts and houses dotted on the hillside. Though ski tourism has picked up over the last seventy years or so, it feels as much of a farming village as a ski hub - a lot of Châtellans continue to work in agriculture like generations did before them. The skiing is split between two sectors – the first is Super-Châtel Barbossine, which links over to Morgins and Torgon in Switzerland via the Super-Châte...
The Super-Châtel telecabine transports skiers and boarders from the village to beginner’s and kid’s areas, which have links to a number of green, blue and red slopes. For a spot of Swiss skiing, intermediates can use lifts and red runs to connect to Morgins or explore Torgon via the Petit Châtel and Barboussine lifts. On the Linga side, we like blue graded La Leiche which leads through the forest back to the village. For red run skiers, Le Linga is a fabulous valley descent from Tete du Linga at 2156m. ...
It might not have the party reputation of Val d’Isere, but there are some brilliant bars in Châtel when it strikes après ski o’clock. L’Avalanche on Route du Linga is a cracking bar with live music and DJ’s playing until late and Nazca has a sun terrace for when the weather’s good, with drinks, dancing and themed nights.
