Right in the centre of San Candido village, and within a few minutes’ walk of the lifts, the Hotel Orso Grigio has over 550 years of history. Originally a lodging for travellers in 1303, you get a sense of character the moment you walk in to the lobby with its late-gothic styled vaulted ceiling. The characteristics of this ancient inn combine seamlessly with the addition of modern comforts and facilities throughout.

The generous and caring hospitality of Franz Ladinser and his team do not go unnoticed here, having been in the family for several generations. As well as the extensive hotel cellar, of which Franz himself is a connoisseur and will personally recommend wines, the hotel recently added several relaxing wellness facilities including a sauna on the panoramic terrace. When it comes to the food, start the day with a buffet breakfast fit for a king. And if you’re not jumping out of bed for first lifts, enjoy a leisurely breakfast until 10.30am.
