· 2 minutes’ walk to the ski bus stop · 30 minutes' bus ride to the Vogel ski area · 45 minutes' bus ride to the Kranjska Gora ski area · 10 minutes’ walk to the centre of the resort · 4 minutes’ walk to the lake
You’re in a nifty corner of the town at the Bled Rose Hotel. The ski bus stop’s only round the block, and from there you’ve the choice of the Vogel or Kranjska Gora ski areas to head off to and explore. It’s a short distance to several bars and restaurants, and with Lake Bled just across a park from you there’s great views right on your doorstep.
A sense of freshness runs through the hotel itself, from the colourful, airy rooms to the green jungle theme at the buffet. You’ve got a pool to relax in, a range of spa facilities to check out, a decent-sized sun terrace, and a nice lounge-bar area to chat away in over a few evening drinks.
Standard board here is bed & breakfast, and you can expect a large hot and cold spread in the morning to kick your day off the right way. You can upgrade to half board if you want your evening meals sorted too, and for an extra charge you can also dine in one of the hotel’s igloo pods – just remember to book in advance if you’re keen.

One of the prettiest towns in Europe, and most probably the world. Bled isn’t enormous in the skiing department, but it’s a bucket list destination nonetheless – and the lift pass covers a handful of other Slovenian resorts to sink your skis into. Whatever you do, don’t forget your camera.
