Good points: the chalet staff and resort manager went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Sensible flight and transfer times. Great in terms of what was provided for our baby (cot, high chair, change mat, nappies etc.) which made holidaying with an infant relatively stress free. Gorgeous... + more

Location: where is Bellacima Lodge

Bellacima Lodge is only five minutes stroll from the centre of Meribel. The pistes at La Chaudanne are just two minutes away by our Merishuttle chauffeur service. Ski hire in Bellacima is provided by Freeride who offer an in chalet fit service.

Overview: chalet description: Bellacima Lodge description

Those who have stayed in our all singing all dancing flagship chalet in Meribel will agree, this isn't any old chalet. This 5 bedroom luxury chalet was built to order - with lift, cinema, billiard room, hot tub and small counter current swimming pool.

We dreamt up our perfect chalet and our long-standing friend and partner in Meribel, Bernard Raffort, assembled it. We were thinking huge vaulted living room with central fireplace, fabulous views of the pistes, perhaps a hot tub on the large south facing terrace and just maybe a small swimming pool with counter current too. Then we pondered a sumptuous cinema for the odd blockbuster, a billiard room for après-dinner amusement, and … lets go mad, how about a lift for when we felt tired or lazy at the end of the day. We pondered, Bernard built. Bellacima Lodge has it all.

Bellacima Lodge is positioned opposite O'Sullivans (formally Dick's Tea Bar) - perfect for a spot of après if you can tear yourself away from this fantastic chalet in Meribel's heart. Our dream and Bernard's pride and joy. Definitely the place to be seen this season.

Spread across three floors, Bellacima offers fantastic room choices for groups and families alike. There are two Twin rooms on the Ground floor and you'll find a Twin on the First floor. There is another Twin on the Second floor as well as a Family Suite. The Family Suite has a Twin and Double room which share a bath, hand basin and WC. They each have a balcony and can be accessed by a private lift.

Meals: Bellacima Lodge food & drink

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our catered ski holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update Bellacima Lodge's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...

"Good points and constructive criticism"

Good points: the chalet staff and resort manager went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Sensible flight and transfer times. Great in terms of what was provided for our baby (cot, high chair, change mat, nappies etc.) which made holidaying with an infant relatively stress free. Gorgeous chalet - loved all the facilities. Areas for improvement: check in at Gatwick was very stressful as the Monarch staff were extremely rude and had different information about baggage allowance to that provided by the tour operator. Chalet could have been cleaner. I don't think our bathroom floor had been cleaned for weeks and the kitchen/living areas never looked clean. Food was also disappointing (compared to previous years) which may not be a reflection of the staff's culinary skills but more the menu choices. Also some confusion over what food was available for our baby. The above should be taken as constructive criticism. We will definitely consider holidaying with this chalet company again.

"Bellacima a favourite!"

Our party of friends were delighted to stay in Bellacima, especially with such beautiful new facilities. Emily and Lorna should get particular mention for being such charming, accomplished hosts; they got the balance exactly right of catering for our needs and making us feel comfortable. The food was excellent - consistently high standards and the range of menu was spot on. Cakes were delicious! Everything was made easy for us; the group of kids (aged 13-9) felt it was their best ski holiday ever, as did we. This chalet will only get better in successive seasons as it is fine-tuned. A really good Meribel experience.

"A fantastic week in luxury surroundings with great company"

A friend and I stayed for a week in the newly-constructed Bellacima Lodge. We were looked after superbly by Emily and Lorna, who cooked up a storm every morning and evening. Their enthusiastic nature was much appreciated, particularly in the mornings when we were hungover. The duty driver service was prompt, seamless and definitely allowed us to ski/sleep for a lot longer. We also took full advantage of the hot tub and sauna while other guests ordered in DVDs to watch in the cinema room. All in all, a very impressive chalet with superb staff/drivers/managers (one of whom even lent me their ski gloves for one day when I left mine in the van). P.s. We never evens saw the counter-current pool, let alone use it, as we we're having too much fun with the other facilities!

Quite a high price for new year week but at other times of the year the price would be well worth it and we would definitely return.
