Overview: chalet description: Barmettes description

A stunning and charismatic luxury apartment with incredible private spa

Tucked into the charming and historic old town, Barmettes is a wonderful new addition to our portfolio. Sleeping six adults in three beautiful bedrooms and occupying one of Val d'Isere's most enviable positions, this property has been designed with extraordinary attention to detail.

Rich and textured fabrics combined with a light grainy wood throughout create a warm and very traditional environment. Intimate yet spacious, bright yet cosy, Barmettes is the ideal blend of classic alpine charm and contemporary chic. What’s more, this gorgeous home is only a two-minute walk from the piste, making it exceptionally convenient too.

The first floor is the main hub of the apartment where you are instantly drawn into the welcoming open plan living and dining room. Shelves weighted with books adorn the walls and various old-world artworks, objets d’art, and mounted trophies inject the room with a sense of luxury and grandeur. Plush and generous seating and a large warming fireplace make it the perfect space to unwind in at the end of the day.

To the side of the lounge is the dining are with a table that comfortably seats six people. Beyond this, and discreetly hidden behind a wooden panel with several open panes is a modern, fully-equipped kitchen.

There is also a very stylish master double bedroom on this floor in which there is a decadent free-standing bath tub ideal for long, lazy soaks. A separate shower room with a toilet and a mounted tv complete this haven of comfort.

At the lower ground level are all the facilities required for relaxation and entertainment. The spa area includes a large sauna which seats up to eight people. A sunken indoor hot tub provides the means for soaking weary muscles and subtle lighting makes the space tranquil and inviting. The spa area also houses a rejuvenating rainforest shower.

Room Types: Barmettes bedrooms

The apartment is spread over three floors. The property is entered on the middle floor and this is where there are two spacious double bedrooms located. Each bedroom has been meticulously decorated drawing on the alpine world for inspiration and each is named after an iconic explorer. There is also a set of bunk beds on this floor, in the hallway that are separated by a glass wall and curtain.

The master bedroom is a sumptuous space which is presided over by a set of impressive buffalo horns above the double bed which can also be configured as two twins. On one end the room blends seamlessly into a bathroom with stylish his and her sinks and there is a separate shower here too as well as a mounted TV.

The second bedroom also provides the option of double or twin beds. It boasts a gorgeously rustic en-suite shower room. There is a guest toilet on this level and also a boot room with ample ski storage.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...
