Banff last minute
If you want spectacular views, a friendly community and three ski areas in one fell swoop, you’ll find all of the above within the gates of the glorious Banff national park.
Banff itself is a small town, built so tourists could enjoy the awesome surroundings and with enough shops, bars and restaurants to find new places every day.
All three resorts are easy enough to get to and generally the further you go, the bigger the skiing.
The ‘local’ ski area of Mt Norquay is just a 5 minute drive away, with 190 acres of tree-lined runs, night skiing and a terrific tubing park.
The next furthest away (15 minutes) is Sunshine Village, where you’ll find 3,300 acres of snow-sure skiing over 3 mountains and 2 provinces.
No visit to Banff is complete without the 40 minute commute to Lake Louise, which has the largest ski area in North America (4,200 acres) as well as some seriously stunning scenery.
The snow conditions over the pond can be a completely different ball game to the Alps, so if you’re not sure whether to pack t-shirts or thermals, check out our Snow Report and Snow Forecast pages. You can even see what it’s been like in previous years on our Snow History page.
Get everything sorted as quickly as possible with an ATOL protected package that’ll whisk you away to the Rockies with flights, transfers and accommodation all in one. The great thing about Banff is that the lodges, inns and hotels often have last minute vacancies because winter is actually low season here. See what’s available below and call our friendly ski specialists for expert advice and the best deals around.
If the selection you find here in Banff is limited, try looking at all Canada late ski deals or filter the very best offers globally by searching all last minute ski deals worldwide.
