This family-run hotel is a standout pick for friendly service and delicious local food. It’s done up in a modern-alpine style, with stonework framing the doorways and exposed beams along the ceilings. And true to its name, you’ll spot all kinds of art on the walls as you walk through. When you’re ready to hit the slopes, you can hop on the free shuttle bus which stops right outside the hotel, and be dropped off steps from the main Vogel cable car.

Once you’ve hung up your boots, it's worth stopping by the hotel's chocolate shop for a homemade sweet treat, which you can munch on snuggled up by the fireplace in the lounge. Or head to the bar to round off your ski day with an après tipple. If you’re after total relaxation, you can pay a little extra for a trip to the wellness area, where you can stretch out in a Finnish sauna or sink into a bubbling hot tub.

As for the food, it gets rave reviews here. Breakfast is part of your stay, so load up your plate with whatever you fancy from the buffet, and you can throw in evening meals as well by upgrading to half board. For a special evening, look no further than the hotel's own restaurant, the Pri lovcu, where authentic Slovenian cuisine meets fine dining.
