· 8 minutes’ walk to the resort centre · 5 minutes’ to the Hochjochbahn gondola · 5 minutes’ walk to the ski school meeting point · nursery slopes at the top of the Hochjochbahn gondola · ski bus stop opposite
Get a true taste of Austrian hospitality at the Alpenrose, a family-run stay in the Schruns area of the Montafon valley. The ski school, lifts and nursery slopes are all around a 5-minute walk away. And you can hop on the free ski bus that stops outside if you fancy exploring further afield.
The hotel itself has that classic mountain feel. We’re talking staff clad in traditional dress, a snug lounge with a proper open fire, and bedrooms decked out with furry throws and plenty of natural wood.
Nothing beats a bit of R&R after a session on the slopes, and the spa here is a real highlight – it’s even fed by a natural mountain spring. Swim and sauna your way to post-piste zen, or go the whole hog and splash out on a luxurious treatment. Later, you can swing by the bar for drinks and live music. Then round things off with four courses of top-notch local cooking in the dining room. Lots of the herbs and vegetables come from the hotel garden, and with an expert wine waiter on hand, you’ll always have a glass of something special to go with your meal.
