Serving as the UK’s ‘Global Gateway from the North’, it’s the UK’s biggest airport outside of the London region – and the third biggest overall.
Driving to Manchester Airport:

There are three terminals, so check in advance which one you’re flying from.
Driving from the north: Leave the M6 at junction 20, then continue onto the M56 eastbound until junction 5, and follow signs to the airport.
Driving from the north-east: Exit the M62 at junction 18 and follow the M60 east/southbound. Continue onto M56. Leaving at junction 5 and follow signs for Manchester Airport.
Driving from the south: Drive along the M6 until junction 20, then turn onto M56 eastbound until junction 5 and the rest of the route should be clearly signposted.
Parking at Manchester Airport:
If you are just picking up or dropping off – pull up just outside departures where you can usually unload luggage at no extra cost or park for up to 30 minutes in the multi-storey car park, next door to the terminal building for £3.00
The best value car parks, the Jet Parks, are pre-book only, roughly one mile away from the terminal buildings which can easily be reached on a 5-10 minute free shuttle. The multi-storey car park is next to the terminals, so you can be from your car to check-in within minutes. For special treatment, the Meet & Greet service means you can drive up to the terminal doors and have someone meet and park your car for you, then have it ready for when you return. Dedicated motorbike parking is usually available at Jet Park Plus at the rate of £2.00 per day, payable on arrival.

Trains to/from Manchester Airport:
Manchester Airport train station is conveniently located just minutes away from the terminal buildings, and a 20 minute train journey from Manchester city centre. First TransPennine Express and Northern Rail operate 24/7 services to and from locations all over the UK including Scotland, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool and the Lake District.
Metrolink – the tram stop is inside the airport next to the rail station and there are 92 stops along the city. Trams run every 12 to 15 minutes.
Taxis to/from Manchester Airport:
Black cabs are available from all terminals, fares for inside the Manchester area are calculated on a meter system.
Coaches to/from Manchester Airport:
National Express run various different coaches daily from ‘The Station’ at Manchester Airport, there are several routes including coaches to Blackpool, Liverpool, Leeds, and Nottingham.
