London Southend ski holidays
In Rochford, Essex, London Southend Airport (SEN) is just over a 1.5 hour drive from central London and less than ten minutes from Southend-On-Sea.
A flying base since World War I, Southend’s flight destinations near ski resorts include airports of Geneva, Bern, Venice and Barcelona.

Southend Airport is about a 20 minute drive from the M25 – leave the M25 at junction 29, take the second exit at the roundabout onto the A127. Follow signs for Southend A127 until the Cuckoo Corner roundabout, then take the 1st exit and follow signs to the airport.
If you’re driving from Kent, it’s worth knowing that the payment for the Dartford crossing has changed and now needs to be done online.
Parking at Southend Airport:
For parking at the long stay bay, prices cost from £10 per day last time we checked. It’s based a short walk away from terminal.
You’ll find short stay parking even nearer to the terminal, where the first five minutes are free for quick drop-offs, and up to an hour costs around £5.

Arriva Routes 7, 8 and 9 run between Southend, the airport and Rayleigh.
Route 7 goes via Rochford and Hockley
Route 9 goes via Thorpe Bay and Shorburyness
Route 8 goes via Rochford, Hawkwell and Shoeburyness
Trains to/from Southend Airport:
Southend Airport has its own railway station. During peak times, 8 trains an hour connect London and Southend. From Liverpool Street station, the journey takes around 53 minutes.

Coaches to/from Southend Airport:
The X30 coach links Southend and Stansted airports and Chelmsford. As of 2015, the stop can be found opposite the air traffic control tower, at the back of the taxi rank.

The First Class Lounge has a self-service bar with a range of drinks and complimentary food. The dress code is Smart/Casual and the lounge does not permit groups of over 5 people.
Food and Drink:
Lakers Bar and Restaurant serves both hot and cold food, with a breakfast and dinner menu. The Arnold & Forbes café Kitchen has a wide range of hot and cold snacks – there’s one before and after security. Moneycorp is located inside the departure lounge and at the landside on the arrivals exit.
Shopping:
Stobart Airport Shopping has all kinds of beauty and fashion products, costing up to 20% less than the high street. You’ll find it on the ground floor opposite gate 2.
Wi-Fi:
Last time we checked, the airport provided one hour of free Wi-Fi access.
