Glasgow Airport (GLA) is about 20 minutes’ drive from the city centre, and within an hour of Stirling, Falkirk and Ayr.
Serving Scotland for around 50 years, it won the award for ‘Best Airport with 3-10 million passengers’ from the AOA in 2015.

Glasgow Airport is just off the M8. Exit the motorway at junction 28 and follow signs to Glasgow Airport.
Parking at Glasgow Airport:
Long Stay - Free shuttles provide transport to the terminal, they depart every 10-15 minutes and reach the terminal in 5 minutes.
Short Stay – Short Stay car parks 1 and 2 are only a few minutes’ walk from the terminal, with the multi storey car park being directly opposite.
Fast Track – On Level 2 of car park 2, with a covered walkway taking you to the terminal on foot in 2 minutes. Often this includes access to the airport’s Priority Security lane.

Buses to Glasgow Airport stop outside the main terminal. Most also stop at the Buchanan Street Bus Station which has connecting services all over the country.

Trains to/from Glasgow Airport:
A rail link to the airport is planned for 2025 but in the meantime, the nearest station is Paisley Gilmour Street. The station is around a mile away, and you can reach it from the airport via McGill’s 757 bus. Destinations from Paisley Gilmour Street include Ayr, Wemyss Bay, Gourock, Largs and Androssan Harbour.
For Glasgow Queen Street (trains to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Alloa, Cumbernauld and others) and Glasgow Central Train Stations (Edinburgh, Kilmarnock, Manchester Airport and others) you can catch the First 500 Glasgow Shuttle.
Taxis to/from Glasgow Airport:
Glasgow Airport taxis drop off passengers outside the main terminal building. Pre-booked returns often qualify for discounts.
Coaches to/from Glasgow Airport:
National Express have services to Buchanan Bus Station, which is linked to the airport by the First 500 Glasgow Airport Shuttle. The journey usually takes just over 30 minutes and buses leave every 10-15 minutes.

For hot drinks and snacks, there’s a Starbucks. Mozzo and Upper Crust. You’ll also find the likes of Frankie and Benny’s and the Deli Kitchen Café.
Shopping:
Shops include Accessorize, Boots, Swarovski, Sunglass Hut and Maplin as well as World Duty Free and WH Smith.
Wi-Fi:
The airport gives travellers 30 free minutes of Wi-Fi access, charging £3 for 1 hour and £5 for 3 hours.
